Is there any way to get green peppers to change colour?

I have had green ones turn orangey if I kept them long enough mind you they usually go wrinkly before that! I wonder if putting one in a paper bag with a banana would do it?
I love it when the big bags of peppers are red and yellow! Lidl often have red peppers really cheap.
