New(ish) to Weight Watchers

Hi there

I have moved from Slimming World diet as to be honest I think I was getting to used to what I could eat etc and cheating and not counting.

I tried WW yrs ago but never carried it on as I never lost weight as I found out I was pregnant with my daughter.

So now is the time to start again as I am now 3lb off the heaviest my husband has ever seen me and I need to do something.

I am 38 now and want to be my ideal weight by the time I am 40. I said this when I was 30 but hence it never worked.

My main question is what pro points I can have each day?

I have an app on my phone to tell me the points of food but that no good if I don't know what I start with!

At the moment I am 187lb :)() and my height is 5.5ft.

Does anyone know what points to start at?

My main problem is not drinking enough water I think and too much beer and wine so I am giving the booze the heave-ho for a while.

Fingers crossed for me!!!

Thanks for that Nikki.

I will just find a way to convert my weight and height into kg and cm and will give it a go.

Found a good app on android phone for working out pro points but nothing to work out what you should eat for the day! doh!

Good luck with the weight loss......we can do it!!

Just wanted to wish you lots of luck with the plan and ask what was the name of the Android app you downloaded? I was going to buy the calculator at the meeting last night but thought I'd try and find an app first

Hi all! I'm joining tomorrow and I'm nervous as it's been a whole and I too had got complacent at SW! X

Sent from my iPhone using MiniMins

We can do it springergirl and like you I also like a drink and will def be using my weeklies for alcohol!

Lanky (another SW convert!) good luck.

We can do it girls!!x

Hi nikki_k - it is very dif to SW but am excited about eating out and not having to have the most boring thing on the menu a nandos/ takeaway/ little Frankies :D

Hope everyone is doing well :)

I have a silly question ... Can all 49 weeklys be used one day eg for special occasion? And if I try not to eat them in a normal week will I lose more? Xx

How are u guys doing? How many days/ weeks in are u? X

You can use them how you like... wouldnt recommend eating them all on the day before your weigh in though x

I wholeheartedly recommend eating your weeklies. Metabolism is a complicated thing and eating less doesn't always mean losing more (certainly not long term anyway) x

I don't know how anyone goes a week without weeklies, I always look forward to my treat :)

When do u use your weeklies - for a WI night treat? Still a bit confused hehe... If say I wanted to drink them on a weekend is that ok? X

Hi there, I just searched the android market for a free WW app, the one I have got is called WWDiary by canofsleep but there are lots of others around.

i use ALL my weeklies at the weekend and call them my weekendlies :party0036:

Haha sounds good! X

Thanks Springergirl! I will check them out :)

I still haven't got to grips with using the 'weeklies' I am afraid of not losing if I use them!

I try to use at least half my weeklies. Some weeks I struggle to do this but I allow myself bigger portions, full fat stuff etc to dip into them. I don't tend to keep my weeklies for any particular day unless I have an evening out planned. I generally find that I use them when I fancy a Chinese or a meal out. Other than that, I would be hard pushed to use them! I always tend to hang on to about 10 of them also as a failsafe, and I avoid using them in the 2 days prior to WI xx

Those are all good tips ;) i'm very hungry today but I guess people should be between meals I haven't let myself get hungry recently which is part of the problem :s x

No, you shouldn't be hungry! I never am! Bulk out meals with veg and eat fruit to stave the hunger :)

I have to say I disagree that you should never be hungry! You shouldn't be starving, and you shouldn't be hungry all the time, but coming up to meals you should be starting to feel hungry!

I think one of the things that can add to people being overweight is this feeling that we should never be hungry, that it's a terrible thing to be hungry. But there's nothing wrong with a bit of hunger in the lead up to mealtimes. After all, they say "eat when you're hungry"... Not "keep eating so you're never hungry"!

Conversely, you shouldn't always be hungry. As you get used to PP, you'll learn to eat the right foods (ie high protein) and utilise zero pointed foods so that you aren't starving :)

I suppose what I meant is that you shouldn't be hungry between meals, coming up to a mealtime then yes, of course you will feel hungry :)
