I am completely the same; which is why all my attempts at losing weight have failed in the past. I'm good until that horrible point mod-afternoon when it feels like lunch was four years ago and dinner is in a decade. Here's what I found helped:
1) I do a workout dvd in the afternoon. This is my prime time to get bored and hungry and eat and so by doing this excercise I achieve two things: I occupy at least a half hour of my time thus reducing the boredom but also, once I've excercised I find I don't want to ruin my hard work by eating.
2) I personally eat five small meals a day and each meal has at least some protein. Protein can stop the signal the stomach sends to your brain to tell you you're still hungry. I know that you said the problem was boredom, but I found that with my boredom eating it helps to keep eating 5 small meals. Even just calling them meals helps! rather than breakfast, lunch, dinner and 2 snacks I call them meal 1, meal 2 etc. etc. It makes them sound more filling.
It might help if you made your meals opposite. As in, breakfast was bigger than lunch, lunch bigger than dinner, and dinner the smallest of the lot? That way your stomach is full right from the get go and you're topping up, rather than eating everytime your hungry. Does that make sense? I don't think I made any sense there =s
I hope I've helped and good luck!
