About to join you all!

Hi everyone, really glad I found this forum. Today I collected my foodpacks and on Friday I start 100%. Feeling a little bit overwhelmed as I have seven stones to lose, and my motivation is lagging, so its great to see all you upbeat people coping with it all. I actually got my first pang of excitement reading this tonight.

Hi :) what diet are u on? ive got roughly the same amount of weight to lose as u

I know the excited feeling... I was buzzing last night at the thought of not having to battle with what to have to eat the next day!

Started today 2 packs down and feeling good! My CDC has recommend step two/810 but says I can do ss or ss+ If I feel up to it. I weighed in last night at 14.6 and want to lose 5 stone also well be happy with 4 but 5 is the ultimate goal!

Hope you have a flying start tomorrow xx

100% Cambridge

Hey Sammy, I am doing Cambridge, 100% sole source. I have never done cambridge before, although have done lighter life and lost loads of weight and felt amazing! I am a bit apprehensive this time around as I am at home right now rather than at work and have so much more to lose.

Well done kimmyjaytee on your first day, those cells will soon be burning!! Know exactly what you mean about not having to think about food, its very liberating and leaves you with so much time to do other things!

Roll on tomorrow.......:)

I work from home - my tip is keep the fridge empty! My poor husband had to get food every day for him and the kids until I list my first stone... Then it gets much easier.

I had 5 stone to lose and did it in just over 4 months with no cheating at all. You just have to withdraw from social events for this time - it's not long though, is it really?!

Also, get out the house and leave purse at home any time you feel mind thinking about food! Take water with you and when u get back you'll feel fab at overcoming any cravings! It's a bit weird but when I get a craving now I watch a cookery program! I don't know how THAT works but it does for me!

That is totally weird, LOL!! Well I have taken your advice, my fridge is a very sad place indeed. Unless I get desperate for a squirt of ketchup, theres very little in there for me now!

Day three, and I have been a very busy girl, tidying, gardening and lugging bags of horse manure up hills (dont ask!). When I checked earlier I still wasnt in ketosis which I am a bit gutted about. Guess I must have had a very large carb store. Gonna try again now and that stick better be purple ;)

Ignore the sticks if you are sticking to it 100% you are ketotic. They only measure excess ketones generated your body might be using them well or when you drink enough water they don't show.

Some of my clients would NEVER show on a stick! Others took 5 days, one even a week. Don't get fixated on these. I don't think you should ever have been encouraged to buy the sticks. They, like weighing yourself cause nothing but heartache for some!! Put them away! ;-)

thanks for the advice re: ketosis

Hi, thanks for the good advice. I guess its nice to see evidence of ketosis, but as you say, its not important and if I am drinking enough, sticks shouldnt be too dark in any case. I was gonna buy some sticks, but I will take your good advice and not bother! I have found today hard though, and this evening, I found an old lighter life bar in my cupboard and before I knew it, had eaten it, on top of my 3 CD packs. Earlier today I had a soup and it was absolutely foul, has made me feel ill all day, but this is no excuse!! Feeling gutted. Trying to get perspective, it wasnt a bowl of pasta or anything, but I wanted to do this 100% :(

Don't worry. First few weeks are the worst. It gets easier and if you are stubborn and don't stray it can be the easiest diet! However, start straying, even once a week and I didn't know ANY one who managed to stick at it.

Empty your cupboards and fridge. Leave your purse at home when you are out and if tempted grab your water bottle and get the hell out your house for a walk! You'll feel great for overcoming your craving and you'll be as close as damn it to that predicted stone a month loss!

You can do it! Just be stubborn and strong. Put a 'fat' picture of you where you can keep looking at it and buy a small sized dress to hang in your bedroom - keep looking at it and telling yourself that you'll get in it soon. I bought a nice 'work' dress in Tesco sale for £8! Nothing exciting but I try it on all the time when I'm struggling. I can get it past my knees now!!!

thanks mandy

thanks mandy, I was so determined not to eat a morsel off plan, I wasnt even hungry, not sure why it happened. I will buy a motivator dress to hang in my room, that sounds like a great idea. I did empty my fridge, but this out of date old lighter life was just there beckoning me! I wouldnt mind, it was nearly as foul as the oriental chilli soup, god that was rank. Will be sticking to choc mint shakes now with tons of crushed ice!

thanks again, I am gonna forget this happened and carry on regardless

Good girl! Honestly, it's a fantastic diet to get rid of a good lump of weight. Do it in one go because, honestly, it's much much harder to get started the second time!

Really, the main benefit for doing this diet is the speed of the weight loss. Just remember it can set you back 2 or 3 days just having a nibble that's 2 or 3 days longer on the diet - who wants that???

The dress thing really works. I've also got jeans in every size between the 18 I was a few weeks ago and the 12 I want to be. I've ditched the 18, am in the 16 and have the 14's right there next to my dress!!!! I try those on too lol!!

how much weightloss in the first week?

Thanks Mandy, you are very inspiring :D just wondering how much weightloss is 'normal' in the first week. I cant get to my counsellor until day 11, so I am now on day 8, cant help but weigh myself every day, and have so far lost 7LB, but the past two days, that has stcuk, and today even went up by 1/4 pound, I know that scales and weight fluctuate and its the bigger picture that important etc etc and that I should not be concerned, but honestly, at over 17 stones I feel a bit gutted that my loss isnt bigger :(

Don't worry - the scales will get stuck like that for at least a couple of days every week (my personal record was 6 days on the trot!) - and then they'll shift again. It's to do with changes in water balance and your body trying to figure out what the hell you're doing to it. :D

Hang in there - you'll be losing fat every day, no matter what the scales say if you stick to the diet 100%. :hug99:

The scales shifted again!!

Lily, thanks so much for that, I will remember it whenever I get disheartened with the scales progress. I wish I could put them away but I just cant, I need to know where I am on a daily basis. You were absolutely right and after two days I have dropped again another 2LB!! My total loss is now 10LB in ten days. Cant moan about that! Have just celebrated my first Easter without chocolate, ever, and you know it was glorious, I pottered around in the sun and had a fabulous day without food. Nearly left those awful 16 somethings behind, and am feeling great :D:love047:

Sorry! Was off chasing children!!

Lily got it spot on. After 4 years I've only just managed to stop weighing myself every day. It's very liberating because, quite frankly, I was obsessed!

You've now found why weighing every day can do more damage to your motivation than good - really try to do it less. Even every other day if you can.

As for an average loss in a week? There's really no such thing. I've had women of similar height and weight lose 13lbs whilst another lost 3 in their first week! As long as you stick to your plan 100% you know the weight you are losing is the absolute most it can be. Don't compare yourself to others - we are all different and we all lose at varying speeds over the course of a month (or two, or three). Just stick at it and you'll be pleased! X

I've got nearly 7 to lose and could do with some moral support. On day three, still not ketotic and frankly, it's killing me!!
