Ketosis Question

Hi there,

I'm guessing that the manky taste you get in your mouth signifies that you are in some stage of ketosis? Also, what I am wondering is should I stay like this e.g. not have my last shake before bed so I stay in this fat burning zone or is it better still to have your shake?
I find i come in and out of this 'manky breath state' during the day.
All feedback appreciated and 4.5lbs off in first week :)

Hi lovely! Congrats on your loss, that's mega.

I'm on my 5th week of LLL now, and yes, I'm afraid the manky taste probably means you're in ketosis. Not everyone gets it, but I do and I agree it's ming!

You can try to limit it by drinking peppermint tea and carrying a little bottle of mouthwash and rinsing your mouth occasionally throughout the day. I really wouldn't recommend skipping any foodpacks. It'll only slow down your weight loss if anything. The LLL programme is planned carefully on nutrition and calories, so if you start having less then it could really impact on your health.

Good luck with the rest of the weight loss! Stick with it xxx

Thanks NewMe2009, kind of figured that it would be better to eat my foodpack and so did. I dont actually mind the manky taste as when I have it then I know the eating plan is working. It comes and goes with me, some days I have it alot but other days inc the last couple I havent had it and i begin to wonder if the plan is being as effective as possible?? I am also still exercising (fat burning cv primarily) so have upped my protein (but not my carbs) intake slightly higher than LLL recommendations - not advocating this btw but just for me to prevent muscle loss. Getting my bodyfat measured tomorrow night to see what is happening over and above the weight loss. Does the 'taste' in your mouth come and go or do you have it all the time? :)
