I'm a restarter after a forced break of about 4 months.

I had pneumonia then got diagnosed with COPD. Steroid treatment meant piling pounds back on which in turn has depressed me.

Then, a month ago, my much loved brother died after a 6 year battle with prostate cancer. His wife has been fighting breast cancer for the last two years and last week doctors told us it has spread to liver and eyelid and also possible problems in bone marrow. I support her as I have always taken her for treatment because my brother was unable to. He spent his last few weeks in a nursing home after his crumbling spine crippled him.

Four weeks ago, just before he died, I fell downstairs and fractured my coccyx. I still cannot sit properly or for long. I am a dancer and this injury has stopped me training. I should have danced in Blackpool last weekend but couldn't.

The weight gain has depressed me yet I couldn't take control of it for a while. I am single and currently not interested in even going out and meeting anyone but I do now want to take control of my weight problem again. I know that this forum helped me before so I am hoping you will all support me again just as I will support you.

Welcome back, I am a restarter too, now on my 2nd week.

What a horrible time you have had, no wonder you feel depressed. Hopefully being on CD will take away some stress - not having to think about eating etc.

Good luck on your journey missus, and I hope you start to feel a bit brighter soon.

Welcome back! What a terrible time for you. I'm impressed you're dancing as a COPD sufferer. I hope starting CD helps you feel a little more in control of at least part of you life and gives you a positive to focus on.

Good luck to you and I hope better things are on their way to you. x
