Will I be welcomed back?

I've not been on here since November, and I must say, I'm feeling extremely ashamed to be perfectly honest with you... I got so caught up in uni work, I took my mind off my weight, and I'm paying for it now.

During the summer, I started my diet at 194lbs (13.8ish) stone and managed to get down to 173lbs ( 12.4 stone).
I weighed myself for the first time in months the other day and was absolutely horrified to learn my weight has crept up to a massive 204lbs ( 14.5 stone)

This has both shocked and horrified me, and I am now more than determined to get back to where I was, because for this summer, I want to get back to where I was and continue on so that for the first time ever I will be slim since I can personally remember.

I hope you'll welcome me back given the circumstances :(

Hi Ryster, Good for you getting back to eating healthily and wanting to get that weight off. You have your whole life ahead of you and how much better it will be if you are in a fit state to enjoy it to the full.
No probs whatsoever about being welcomed back - I am quite sure that I can speak for the majority of minis on that.
It would be a good idea if you pick up on your diary that you started before so we can get to see how you are progressing snd give you support when necessary...
Take care and all the very best...:)

Hi ryster
look at is like this, you have done it before so you can do it again. but this time you have all the knowledge that you didnt have the first time around.
you know what works for you and what doesnt, you can avoid any of the mistakes that you may have made before, and take advantage of the things that helped you along the 1st time around.
Good Luck! :)

Hi Ryster, good for you for coming back, sorry the weight has crept back on but as LornaGrace said, you have done it before and you can do it again :) good luck

Hey there,

Welcome back! I understand what happened - Uni is tiring, you are so busy you just never realize that things start to slip. I am a student as well, and in summer I lost a good bit of weight, then Uni started and by March this year I was a couple of pounds HEAVIER than my original biggest weight. I have restarted and in four weeks have not only lost 14 lbs but feel like I learned a life lesson.

Never feel ashamed or unwelcome - we all struggle with our weights. It is not weak to struggle and restart - it is weak to struggle and never come back. It is a journey not a race, and lets face it, wouldn't it be a bit boring without some hurdles? If it was easy there would be no-one overweight; this journey is about becoming stronger (body and mind). What use is the weight falling off, if we never learned that we have to WORK for it? Never learned how to maintain a healthy body?

We need to feel PROUD of what we achieve, because of our STRENGTH and our PERSEVERANCE. We need to appreciate HEALTHY LIFESTYLE CHANGES, not just scale changes. If it was just weight that could never be true.

You my dear are on the journey to an improved you, and you can safely say that no-one here would ever judge you badly for saying WOAH let me work at this, and jump my hurdle to carry on the journey.

All the best with it, everyone is rooting for you

FW

This is so true :) Of course people will welcome you back, we're all on the same journey, it's just some of us take longer to reach our destination and have more little detours on the way! I did the same as you, stopped actively trying to lose weight and put a bit back on. I'm still trying to get down to what was my lowest weight of last year, then I can carry on losing the weight I set out to shift. Good luck with restarting anyway :)

hi Ryster like you i have just come back but my time away was longer than yours(2 1/2 years) well done on plucking up the courage to come back. i hope your journey goes well.

Oooh, Ryster, I was just the same, but it took me a lot longer to come back too! Once it's in your mind to get going again you'll start to feel better straight away!
