Happiest Girl :D
I had my first weigh in last night & lost 6.5lbs. I'm a bit dissapointed as I stuck to SS 100%! I drank about 5l of water a day & walked a good few miles on 3 days.

I see everyone else losing double digits & thought I might at least have a 9 or 10. :(

I'm worried for how long it will take me to lose 23lbs now. I thought if I did 2 months it would be off but now I'm thinking it will take forever. It's taken me 2 years to lose 2 stone & I wanted the rest off for summer.

Sorry for the negativity, just had to rant!

6.5lbs is AMAZING! Seriously - it could be a number of things...
...firstly what is your start weight?

With most people on here we are MORE than 3 stone over weight and it seems you don't have much to lose so I reckon that in the scheme of things will be a great loss.

Also 5litres!!!! WOW - surely you could drown yourself drinking that much!!

Don't worry - you will see a nice steady loss and it all adds up.

Don't give up though.

Thanks  My start weight was 11,9.5 on my CDC's scales, I had just over 2 stones to lose. I'm just scared it could be 2lb a week from now on!

LOL, the water, yeah, I researched it, 5litres is fine as long as it's not all at once. Honestly, I'm that thirsty! It's not a struggle to get it down at all. I have a full glass at a time. Peeing all day & night though, lol.

I thought you could only do SS if you had over 3st to lose!?!

I could be wrong.

Thing is 2lb a week is a healty sustainable loss and when I get down to what you are I reckon that is a GREAT loss.

Most people at your weight trying to lose 2stone lose 1lb at a time.

Thing is - no matter how much you want to lose 2stone by the summer if by the summer you only have 7lbs to go at least you know you have only half a stone of weight to lose - better than giving up and having nothing at all.

I only lost 7lbs in my first week, and I lost 20lbs in the first month so you will EASY PEASY get 23lbs off in 2 months! Don't fret!

No, It's BMI of 25 plus a stone, which is 11 stones for me.

I guess I'm just think it's not a lot to lose eating nothing, do you know what I mean? People in the slimming world & weight watchers threads lose more! I just thought being Cambridge it would be more effort & cost = better results. I don't mean to sound ungrateful for my loss, I just thought it would be bigger.

Aww, thanks loveablemonkey! I needed that xx I was worried that I would be resigned to low numbers and was just thinking if it was only 2lbs a week It would be easier & cheaper doing something not as drastic & restarting my training.

thats almost 1/2 a stone hun well done l bet you will a big loss next week too:D

6.5 is a great loss!!!! Remember most of us on here have had a much greater amount of weight to lose than you do so please don't get disheartened, because heavier people seem to lose more at the start. I think you'll easily lose it in 2 months :)

They don't consistently lose more though! And hun, you're not comparing like with like. Those people that have big losses on SW and WW have more to lose than you do.

And people on SW and WW don't consistently lose 2 pounds a week, either. I never did, grrr, no matter how hard I tried.

And hang on a minute - didn't you lose 4 pounds in the week before you got started? Because if you did, that's where some of the water weight (that you would normally have lost in Week 1) went...

Doing Cambridge is the fastest way of losing weight, hun - don't let your mind play tricks on you. If you were to swap to WW, you'd be taking in 3 times as many calories per day as you are now. The calorie deficit would be much smaller, so it would definitely take you far longer to lose those 23 pounds.

Thank you Sasha Felix & Lily, I just needed a reality check I think! I need to think positive!!

6.5lbs is nearly half a stone, go me!! :D xxx

Carla - thats the best part of 1/2 a stone - in a week - thats amazing - don't give up now you've done the very worst part. Yes some of us do have much bigger losses in the first week - but have many more stone to lose than you. Also I think someone said you lost weight the week before as well so count that it. Quite often the massive first week losses are due to few days of total binging eating everything you know you aren't going to be able to have before you get weighed and start!! So its almost a case of put it on to lose it again in the first week to get the big losses (I'm not saying that is what people do deliberately but that is the overall outcome).

CD isn't a miracle diet - it AVERAGES out at a stone a month - so that will be some 1 and 2 lb weeks and some more, focus your expectations around those figures and then you won't get that horrible let down feeling. Stick with it and keep going - your 2 stone will be gone before you know it - your 25% of the way there already ;-)

Hon, I was a bit bigger than you were when I started (12'2) and on Tuesday I was 11'5; I'm hoping to have lost a stone this week with losing 3lbs but the truth is if you haven't loads to lose it does take that bit longer ...

and OT, you're in Wigan? :D I grew up there! xx

It's a fantastic start. Take no notice of others' losses. We are all individual.

Oh and last time I did this I had to drink 5 lites a day too or I kept retaining water! Yes it IS safe like you said as long as not all in one go.

Good luck! You'll be looking fabulous for the summer!

Coral am also aiming to lose 2.5stones and I was weighed today 1st week and lost 6lbs, I was totally chuffed with that. You should be thrilled, don't compare your losses to anyone else, we are all different, as long as it is coming off, that is what matters, just keep focused and in a mth you'll be nearly half way there... well that's what am hoping and come another month and the goal will be near enough accomplished... Good luck next week!

Thanks ladies, you guys are the best :D

Puzzles, yes, I've lived here for 8 years now! My SO grew up here but I'm a Bolton lass originally! ;)
