Diets that time forgot

I like to put some catch up tv on when doing the housework... managed to watch this series today. 3 groups followed 3 historical diets
Victorian (similar to Atkins... meat no carbs)
Edwardian (called the chew chew... anything you want but must chew each mouthful 32 times)
1920s (calorie counting, 1200 per day)

All groups lost a similar amount, with the Edwardian coming out top....

Interesting, has anyone else viewed this?
What are your thoughts?

Currently trying to implement this into my SW plan

I think chewing something 32 times would make me feel ill... The food would break down too much :-/

I remember my mum telling me years ago to chew maybe 20 times and I tried it but it was just awful..reminds me of when you get a bit of meat that you just chew and chew and can't swallow! Lol

SW how it is does me nicely :) good luck if you manage to incorporate though!

maybe that's why the chew chew method works. i know for me personally, after chewing all those times i wouldnt be able to swallow it and would therefore spit it out.
now i just like to look at the food then swallow it whole !!!!

I think this chewing 32 times per mouthful adds too much pressure into meal times. I'd rather just chill and spend time catching up with my family after spending all day at work not sit there counting my 'chews'. Having to weigh my Hexb cereal is stressful enough in my opinion! :p
