Hi and welcome! I suggest you take a look in recipe sub-forum as there are lots of cake recipes there. Also have a look on www.slimmingeats.com as there are dome great ones there too.

By the way, you should try not to post in caps as that is the equivalent of shouting on internet forums but mostly because it's really difficult to read ;)

i would recomend the 12 syn sponge cake, really yum just type it in the recipe section. there are loadsa variations on it too, like chocolate ones or lemon cupcakes etc xxx

Oh brilliant :D Thanks for your help @ juicygooseface ;)

I liked the look of the iced fairy cakes too - 3 syns per cake. I wonder what the syn value would be if you swopped the caster sugar for sweetener?

Oh they sound great! I'll make those next time - then I can eat more :D

I'm making these ones:

iced fairy cakes

Serves: 24
Prep time: 20 minutes
Cook time: 20 minutes
Syns per serving: 3 on any of the SW plans

ingredients
2 eggs
2oz/57g low-fat margarine
6 level tbsp caster sugar
4oz/113g self-raising flour
2-3 drops vanilla essence
1 tbsp finely grated orange zest
8 level tbsp icing sugar
A few drops of food colouring

Method
1. Preheat the oven to 180°C/350°F/Gas 4. Line 24 mini-muffin tins with paper cases. Whisk together the eggs, margarine and sugar. Sieve in the flour and fold into the mixture with the vanilla essence and orange zest.

2. Carefully spoon into the paper cases and bake for 15-20 minutes until firm and golden. Remove from the oven and leave to cool on a wire rack.

3. To make the icing, mix together the icing sugar with a few drops of water and food colouring to make a spoonable mixture. Decorate the cakes with a little icing and top with a few silver balls if liked (1 Syn per level tsp).

Tip: These cakes will stay fresh if kept in an airtight container (for up to a week).

sound good! im in the middle of making a sponge ) xxx

They are very small but taste yummy so thats the main thing :D

Think I'll try your lower syn ones next though ;)

What sponge are you making? :)

im making the one thats 12 sns for the whole cake, but have added lots jam in the middle and some icing sugar on top so i estimate it adds on about 6.5 syns per quarter of the cake :) got it in the frisge atm an gonna have it later!! xxx
