Hello:) dh & I are thinking of having a relaxing weekend away for our first anniversary & I was wondering if anyone here has any recommendations?

We were looking for somewhere where we can have a nice meal out and relaxing evening in. Preferably in the Yorkshire region. Any recommendations would be fab:)

Log on to groupon.co.uk then look at the region you want to visit or even your own region, you will be amazed at the offers you can get, my h and myself have had some lovely week-ends away at a fraction of the price and you often get a free bottle of wineif you dine at the hotel, worth looking into, I hope you enjoy whatever you decide to do. x

I will look:) was thinking of maybe a spa hotel cos the idea is a night away just us, the main aim being relaxation! :)

Whitley hall hotel in sheffield is lovely, (but doesnt have a spa) has a great restaurant. Its one on my faveroite hotels around here.
Iv not been but herd the 'Mercure Sheffield St Paul's Hotel and Spa' is really nice, its right in the centre (the nice part) so its close to bars, lots of restaurants, two theatres (just been to see AvenueQ there it was great), the bus and train station. and the tram is close so easy if you wanted a shopping trip to meadowhall. close to lots of countryside, for example Rivlin Valley, for nice walks.
have a good break, also happy first anniversary!

Just thought, Chatsworth, Bakewell and Castleton are all lovely places to visit. and a little more relaxing than sheffield but still not far with easy access.
