Hi everyone ..

I'm thinking of joining SW as I have seen some amazing results from people in the past.. I have been reading this forum about SW and it all seems a bit confusing, like the red, green days etc.. is this normal when your new to this kind of thing and is it easy to get used to?

Anyway, I'm sure I will find answers to my own questions due to all brilliant threads and help from everyone..

I just have a few questions in regards to SW.

I don't want to join a club and would much prefer to do it online.. Does anybody do it this way? And does it actually work if you just stick to it online?

Also, can somebody please recommend the books I will need or which ones are the best.. There is so many and I'm not sure which ones to buy..

Many thanks in advanced ... x

Hello :)

Like you I found SW confusing wen I first joined but once you read through the literature it all becomes clear! I promise! haha xx

Hey, slimming world is great but I did leave my first meeting very confused. I found the green easiest to get my head around but I know alot of people do the extra easy.

I personally couldn't not go to class, weigh in keeps me on track during the week but again I think there are lots of people on here that do it online so it will depend on you personally.

I hope you find a plan that suits you and its normal to be very confused by it all at the beginning.

Ive been doing it at home since jan but by very late feb I found I was going back to old habits so had to join a class or else I would just go back to doing nothing

I do extra easy because it simply
Is easy to donand figure out what to eat, I used to many years ago do green days but found It didn't work
For me very well!

Hi and welcome to SW and minimins xxxx

I also find it hard to do by myself at home and need to go to class .... i dont know why that is but i love going to class anyway ..... its like a social!!!

Good luck on your weight loss journey and i am sure u will get used to the plans very soon, it does take a little while but it soon becomes second nature .... I find planning really helps me and i know alot others that are the same ... I will plan what i am going to have for tea every night for a week then shop for the ingredients the week before .... it works for me but im very much into planning and organising.

Hi and welcome!

I'm new too and its my first week of SW, Im doing it online rather than go to a class. Did a lot of reading up the week before I started and pre-planned a weeks meal menu before starting on Tuesday.

Its a lot to take on board with the different days, food options, syns etc. Im nearing the end of my first week and I think Im just about getting into the swing of things, making a few mistakes along the way but, with the help of lovely people here I am being steered in the right direction.

Im filling in a food diary here on minimins aswell as the one on the slimming world site, just to keep me on track. Planning is very important, Im making sure I have my week to week menu planned in advance and that I have all snacks ingredients etc in the house for the next 3 days.

:)

Hi there, yes it is very confusing to start with but like its been said before, the more you read about the plans the quicker it falls into place. I personally do the red and green plans as I dont like veg, but everyone finds one that suits them, that is the beauty of S W . I go to group, I also find it keeps me on track knowing I will be weighed and everyone then asks "how did you do". Almost like friendly competition, I am a slow loser, but I am a steady loser and just love the social aspect of the group also. My c is fabulous and always prepares interesting things for us. Just love it, and know when I eventually get to target I will continue to go.'The starter books we get in group are the food optimising book, which is essential to get your head round the plans. I dont know about online, I suppose once you join then the website will have all the info on there. The main thing is to find a plan that suits you and that you enjoy, enjoying your meals is the key to success. Good luck with your journey!

Hello and welcome.

I've been doing SW online since the end of October and I've lost almost 3 stone, so it does work without going to class. Although unlike going to group, once you reach target you still have to pay for access. Which is why now that I only have a stone left to go, I've joined a group.

Good luck with the weight loss.

Wow, thanks for all your reply's, much appreciated!!

I think with plenty of reading first, I should get used to it.. And I'll give the online thing a go first and if I find that isn't working then I will join the classes ..

There are lots of books on ebay that I have noticed, does anybody recommend any of those? Like the recipe books etc...

Many Thanks... x

Also, I forgot to ask... on your red days, can you replace meat with Quorn? Or does it need to be proper meat that you have? So whenever you have any meat, can it be Quorn instead?

Sorry for all the questions.

Many Thanks.... x

Yes you can, most quorn is free but check the syn values because if it has breadcrumbs or anything added it may be syned. I cant eat quorn because it makes me very sick, but most people can tolerate it quite well. I always stick to proper meat obviously and love fish too. You will get your head round it, it just takes a little time. The most important thing is to enjoy what youre eating.

I will have proper meat now and again.. I don't mind quorn though so I will have that more often, especially the sausages etc.. I'm just glad you can use it to fully replace meat..

Thanks ...x
