OT - anyone had micro dermabrasion

*jenjen*

I will do this...
Hey y'all :D

How's everyone doing tonight?

I've treated myself - it's a wee happy you have lost 49lbs and are half way towards your first goal present to myself :D

Anyone else had it and if so how did you find it, did you like and when did you see a difference?

:D :D

Thats a great treat !!
I have never had it.
I did buy the Roc diy stuff a while back, and it really does smooth up your skin and it does glow.
It will be interesting to hear how you get on
Marge
:)

Thanks Marge and Rachel. I'm just heading off for the appointment now. I will let you know what it's like. I'm getting 6 treatments, this is my 1st. I got it through Groupon. Oh how I love Groupon! :D

I managed three treatments, could see a slight difference. I stopped because you can't go out anywhere for five days without frightening people! Or looking hideous as your top layer of skin dies, tightens so you look like you have a dried facepack on and then starts shedding!! The ideal is to have it done on a Sunday so you can at least go somewhere on a Saturday before your next treatment. Hope you achieve your aim would love to hear of the result as I failed to do the whole course.

Would love to know how you get on as I really want this done in the future! I thought it wasn't meant to make your face look too bad? Xx

Ive had it done and I can totally see a difference already :D I've just got slight redness now. I'm really impressed. Slightly concerned with your reports tho coz she said I should only get slight dry skin on my cheeks which will me fine with a bit of exfoliation and moisturiser lol x

Maybe I had a different thing, it was basically an acid peel. They put a mask with acid on my face, then just as my toes were curling and I thought I was on fire lol they put cold air on my face which stopped the burning sensation straight away and wiped it all off!! Cost about 500 pounds!!!

Yeah, it's a different one. This is where fine particles are sprayed over your face (that fine you can't feel it) and a small hoover like thing is pushed over your face to suck it up with the dead skin. Also a small file like piece of equipment is brushed over your face (file sounds scary but it's not). It's not really sore, it's not relaxing either. It's not like ohmygodstopnow kind of thing either. It evens out skin tone, reduces the appearance of fine lines, reduces pores, acne, scarring and open pores. And I've got all of these and I can totally see a difference. Which I'm over the moon with. Mines should of been over £300. I can't stop touching my skin to feel how soft it is lol. x

Jen jen can you tell me anymore about it? Do you need to go back? How long did it last? Etc thank you xx

Oops sorry seen you said it's 6 treatments! Is it every week? Xx

Yeah, 6 treatments. The next one was going to be in 4 weeks time but I'm having laser treatment (IPL) around the same time so I've got to wait 2 weeks after that to get my 2nd session of micro dermabrasion. This treatment was half an hour and so will the next one. The 3rd one will be an hour.

My face isn't red anymore, there's a few patches of my skin that feel more tender - almost like I've got a spot starting kind of feeling. She said I might get some flaky patches if skin which might need exfoliating and I've to use a good moisturiser tonight.

It's addictive - she does some eye tightening treatments for fine lines so I'm doing that next :D

If you have anymore questions fire away x

Hiya Jen...
Did you go back for your other treatments ?
How did you get on ?
:D

Heya - no I've not been able to, so busy with OH that I've not had a chance, although that one session alone done wonders! This diet seems to have cleared up my skin no end though, my spotty oily skin is no where near as bad. Where you thinking of it? x

I would love to try it :)
I dont have bad skin, but it is quite oily and I think I have quite large pores
I see you are in Scotland ....
Where abouts did you go ?
:)

It was a Groupon advert I got it through in Glasgow... I can't mind the name of the place but I will have a wee look... Have you registered with Groupon because there are adverts for that kind of thing all the time... Register with Edinburgh and Glasgow if you can travel to the both so that you get the best deal.

I really need to try and organise it again x

Aye, I think I will :)
I thought I had registered, but I dont get any emails
I should ask the lass that does my waxing if she knows anywhere eh ? She will know of someone local to me hopefully :)
I might do it as a treat for 50lbs down, or something :)
