Ketosis and Exercise??

I was hoping someone could help me out with this. I am on the 1000cals stage of CD and i have just started to ease my way back into exercise by skipping.

I am aware that at 1000cals i could slip in and out of ketosis and thats fine but i was just wondering if doing lots of exercise would keep me in ketosis more?? I am planning on going to the gym next week and although i am starting off slow i do like to push myself. But i was just wondering if doing alot of exercise would make me stay more in ketosis?? I dont really want to be losing 3-4lbs a week now because i am near goal weight and want to take it steady. I also have ramadam next month so i know i will proababaly lose a few pounds then because of not being able to eat properly.

Anyway, i hope that wasn't too confusing. I would appreciate any advice because i am eager to start exercising more.

Interesting question !

Your body will burn any carbs available first for energy as they're easier than burning fat.

So I guess, theoretically, if you do more exercise, as long as you time the carb intake right, you can have more carbs yet stay in ketosis. So you would be more likely to stay in ketosis if you exercise more.

But overall it's the total cals in v cals out that will determine your ultimate weight loss.

You are beautiful. To be honest, I didn't think that picture was of anyone inparticular. You know when someone puts a picture of a model or a hero or film star in their avatar, well that's what I thought it was ha ha. You are gorgeous x

lol, hehe :D, i totally forgot about that. I did have a pic of me as my avatar before, so i put that comment there because i didnt now how to post my weightloss pics, lol. But i changed the pic last night because i thought it was horrible. Lol :D :D

Nope its not you, lol :p, i have taken it off. I didnt like it :rolleyes:. I hate takin photos but i took a face pic the other night on my mobile and thought i could use it as my avatar but i didnt like it so i changed it :rolleyes:, lol.

Yes, exercise uses up the glycogen in your body faster therefore it is possible that you will go into ketosis (obviously this will depend on how much you exercise and how much carbohydrate you eat).

However, it's not ketosis that makes you lose 3-4lb per week, it's the very low calorie intake on SS. You could be in ketosis and gain weight if you ate enough calories.

I would take the exercise gently to begin with and see how you go. If the weight is still coming off very quickly you will probably want to move up to 1200 or 1500 anyway as your body will need the extra fuel!
 
Thanks for your post Kate. All this time on CD and i thought it was the ketosis that helped you lose the weight but now i know its the low cals, lol.

I think i will take the exercising slowly. I was just worried about next month and how it would effect my weight.
