Just been for lunch and had the Tuna and bean salad. Went on to the SW site and was not happy with not being able to find out a syn value. Had the details but you cant put enough info into it. Will Sarbucks be in the Eating Out guide?

I really think SW needs to make it easier to eat at places like this.

Starbucks put their nutritional info on their website so you can just plug it into the syns calculator

Nutrition | Starbucks Coffee Company

I personally wouldn't trust any diet that claims to be able to tell you the syns of takeaway food as recipes, ingredients, cooking methods and portion sizes differ so much between restaurants it's impossible to say with any confidence

I copied all the info down off the packet and used the calculator thing but still not convinced. Am going to count it as 5 as the only non-free food was oil in the tiny bit of dressing and 2 olives.

Glad I didnt have the Tuna panini - 23.5 syns !!!!!!

from starbucks i love the Apple Fritter but its really heavy i had last last year before starting with sw anyone has a suggestion how to make a light version at home ?
thanks

If you had the full nutritional information as asked on the syns calculator and selected your free food, then the syn value given will be accurate.

But it would only let me select one free food and there was loads (tuna, potato, egg, beans) so how can it work out syns accurately if it doesnt know how many calories were in the free food?

It does know how many calories is in the free food, because it is working out the syns from the FULL nutritional information, not just the nutritional information for 1 ingredient.

You always select the first listed ingredient on the packet as your free food. Or if on an extra easy day and the first two listed ingredients on the packet were lettuce and tuna for instance, then you would select lettuce from the green drop down box and then tuna from the original drop down box.

The syns calculator will never allow you to select ALL the free foods in a ready made/prepared item, because it would involve too complex a formula.
