Disheartened

I effing hate pro-points, I hate them I hate them, I HATE THEM!!

I admit, I found it hard to get into the new programme and had put on a few pounds but from last week I really threw myself into it. This is the second time I have really pushed myself on ProPoints, the first time I gained a pound and this time I gained TWO!

I am now 8 pounds over what I was at Christmas, and my self esteem is shot :cry:I can see the weight creeping back onto me, and it frightens me, I refuse to let this happen. Even when I try my best on PP, I sts or GAIN! What is wrong with me?? Even when I was half doing the Discover Plan I would lose weight.

This week I planned all my lunches, and when I went to the cinema on Friday all I had was a diet coke! I used my weekly pro-points on a McDonalds and drinks on Saturday night (I drink malibu and diet coke, 2pp a drink).

If I had sts I would be ok but a GAIN :( I ended up crying to a woman from my meeting in the supermarket afterwards - how mortifying :sigh:

This week if I don't have a good loss, I'm going to have to accept that I need to move onto something else. I cannot face feeling like this any longer, it's making me lose faith in WW (and believe me, I used to call it my religion) and worse yet, I'm scared that I'll lose faith in myself.

I cannot put this weight back on.

Please, any tips, advice, support, mottos WHATEVER you have to get me through thus week, send them this way.

They're needed :wave_cry:

first of all *masssive hugs* your way. i'm sure it must be heartbreaking after all the progress you've made!

Do you eat your weeklies? If you do have you tried reducing them (even slightly to start with)?

Do you have a food diary online?

Are you weighing/measuring your intake?

It's actually literally heartbreaking! I appreciate the hugs though :)

I do eat all my weeklies, but I can't imagine not doing it because if I didn't get out for my few drinks at the weekend or whatever I'd crack up! That's the reason WW always worked for me, because I was able to enjoy my normal social life at the weekends if I made a few compromises.

I don't keep a food diary online because I don't always have time to get online in work, but I am keeping a written tracker and using the tracking facility on my calculator.

I also do keep an eye on portion size.

The one area I have to say needs work is exercise, and I've vowed to do my half hour power walk every night this week to kick-start my metabolism, except for tomorrow night when I won't have time.

maybe try reducing them to 45 or 40 and see if it works?

I do agree that you definitely need some weeklies (if not all) but I think some people are programmed to need less calories than the average person! x

If you eat the same thing every day your body can get very stoic, so try mixing it up as well (if you dont already) by eating different kinds of food. You wouldn't believe the difference it makes!

I'm trying to allocate my weeklies throughout the week so every day has a different number of points:

day 1 dailies +7 (WI day)
2: dailies +4
3: dailies +5
4: dailies +6
5: dailies +17 (saturday LOL)
6: dailies +8
7: dailies +2

you can apply this rule in any way, with any many or few weeklies as you want.

what that does is keep your metabolism on its toes, always changing how much you eat in a day, it should theorectically shock your body into losing - as long as you keep any big plusses day 5 or before so it doesn't impact on WI

Good luck with whatever you decide to do xx

I really like your way of doing it Hannata, as I think I could use my weeklies better during the week and just saving a few for my drinks on Friday or Saturday!

I've felt hungry during the week so maybe this is a sign that my body isn't happy with what it's getting and then I go and binge!

I so to WI with one of my friends, and we made a pact last week that we'll no longer split a takeaway on WI day unless we've both had a good loss (it was becoming habit, and not even feeling like a treat)

So I guess I have a few things to revise and try out!! I really appreciate the advice :)

I genuinely hope you can get past this because it would be an awful waste of the hard work you've done to get this far, I take my hat off to you for doing so well!!

I just like having a set rule each day so I know where I'm at with my weeklies! If I didn't I'd just binge and say oh well thats what weeklies for, but that rule makes me more accountable yet it does adapt so I can have a weekend treat! :p

I dont have any fantastic advice to give but i really hope you can get past this and continue on with your journey. You have done so well up till now, dont let a few bad weeks get you down. Take the advice given, work it for you. Eventually you'll see the weight coming off again. Keep your chin up hun :)

Hiya, i am also at a loss when it comes to this new pp plan, i have put on 4.5lbs since xmas and i always stick to my daily points and never use the full weeklies and i still stay the same or gain. It is horrible. I found it hard enough to swap from no count plan to points and then they changed it again. ((((hugs))))

Do you point this takeaway (as you said you use your weeklies at the weekend I am guessing not)? Maybe having that plus your weeklies at the weekend is too much because you are then having more than 49 weeklies? Though I might have the wrong end of the stick, so sorry if I have.

The only thing i can think of is are you having too many white carbs? If i even look in their direction i put on weight. Might be worth a look at your diary. Do you eat to late at night?

Do you eat bananas, a lot of people put on weight with them and now that they are free there is even more problems with them.

I do know how you feel. If I eat weeklies, I put on weight. It's April, and I ahven't lost me xmas weight gain, and I didn't go mental at xmas. It's nearly the summer, and I'm still FAT. It is heartbreaking. I ahve said that if no good weight loss, then it's shakes for me after easter

BrokenMirrors don't panic, this happened me two weeks running, it's horrible when you track religiously. I had a loss this week I think mostly from relaxing about weight loss and being more active - not more exercise but more active around the house with less TV - think that's what did it...

-Big hugggeee hugs-
Can be so frustrating STS or putting on weight, but try not to give up just yet! Everything I was going to suggest has been suggested already, especially about the carbs thing. Fingers crossed for you hun :)

Hi

Ive do not have any advice as I too have just started the plan and ive put on this week but that could well be totm. But don't give up and im sure you will get there.
