Mixing Things Up a Bit

Hi!
I'm on EE and have been since the beginning of the year. I absolutely love it and couldn't imagine going back to my old ways of eating now.

But I have noticed that my weightloss is slowing down a little bit. I reckon I've still got about another 2 stone to go and I've lost about 2 already.

Is this normal?

Also should I be looking at trying some Green and Red days would that help?

I do try to change what I eat each week, although my HexBs are always Alpen light bars as I love them and they mean I have something nice with a cup of tea :D

I've never tried Green and Red days, are they easy enough? Also I take it I could carry on with the 1/3 superfree?

Sorry for so many questions I would just so like to get rid of all of this once and for all

Thank you!

You've got the right idea on the red and green days and I think there's a thread going into more detail but you seem to have the basics. 2 x HEXA and HEXB choices, the 1/3 superfree and between 5 - 15 syns a day. You need to do a bit more planning, EE days you can literally just throw together whatever you've got to hand lol

Weight loss does tend to slow down more the closer you get to target, it's normal.

Only been at SW for 3 weeks so not sure about switching to Red & Green days. They seem a bit complicated for me and not as much variety as EE, but hey - whatever works for you! :)

Good luck x

I can sympatheise as I am half way to target (though with further to go than you) & I had noticed that my losses had slowed down a lot lately too. Like you I had been following EE so this week to mix things up a bit I'm doing a whole week of red to see if that helps. I don't WI until friday so I can't tell you if it has worked for me or not yet but I have actually really enjoyed the red days. I found the first few days tough & I had a bit of a lingering headache but that all settled & I've been fine with them ever since. Its definately worth a try though

Thank you all!

I have just had a quick read through and although at first I thought I was quite close to following red as I don't eat much potatoes/rice/pasta I've just noticed that baked beans are a HexB on Red days so I'll need to be a bit more careful on that one when I give it a go - doh!!

Sweet Pink it feels a bit better to be half way doesn't it, I can't wait until I'm just over that blip and more than half way there ;-)

Once you get your head round red and green days they really are easy. I only do them and you do have extra HEs which is nice. You can still have say spag bol with extra lean mince if you take it as a HEB and weigh it out eg 85g, or chilli (again mince 85g) and rice, on a green day, or loads of meat and veg and HEB weighed potato, (I use mine to make syn free chips sometimes) Loads of superfree at meals and in between and yr sorted. Just look in your food optimising book.

. . . Also I take it I could carry on with the 1/3 superfree? . . .

The one-third superfree is not simply a requirement of Extra Easy, but a good principle on which to base any healthy eating plan. So yes, whichever plan you choose, keep on with the fruit and veg!!

Since when?
I've not read this in any literature about red and green days.

I was told this by my consultant just before I left the group before Xmas and I'm sure some of the long time SWers would agree that even if it isn't in the books it can only help with weight loss.

No its not actually written in stone about the 1/3rd superfree, its not obligatory at every meal on red and green which is why I dont do ee because I dont like veg much, certainly not mixed up on a plate. But I do love fruit and am snacking on this all the time, and having it after a meal. I also do a lot of tomato and onion based sauces ie chilli, bolognese, casseroles, bbq sauces etc. More fruit and veg the better, I only really eat a little veg, but am loading up on melon, grapefruit, and strawberries. Although my loss isnt flying along, I have managed to lose 15lb since the end of January, and I am really enjoying my meals. Good luck in your plan!
