Goodbye scales!!

So I'm getting rather obsessed with standing on my scales and it's starting to affect me mentally I feel! So I threw them away last night after having a good week and them showing I had stayed the same! I have had enough of feeling **** about it! I'm just gonna get weighed once a week at class!

Best thing you could have done. It can do your head in, as you have found out, if you keep weighing at home because your weight fluctuates so much even in a single day.

Well done for doing that! Although, perhaps in future folk would give them to friends or charity shops instead of landfill??

Hope that it helps you stay more sane, I know I have trouble not weighing!

Well done you! I have switched from a class WI to a home WI and I have been considering removing the battery and not getting weighed for a couple of weeks. I find that the scales rule my life and if i dont see the result I'd hoped for it effects my mood and very often it has a knock on effect on what I eat. I think I just build my self up for WI too much!

i need someone to come here and throw mine they show that im 16 stone 2 last thursday weigh in i was 16 stone 10.5 lol i wish i really was 16 stone 2 lol i do know they are wrong though as they are wrong every week either that or my kitchen floor is really not level hehe:)

I should do the same! It's my 1st week and I was so tempted to weigh myself this morning (2 days before weigh in) but glad I didn't! My scales are so weird and shift about all over the place.

wish someone would chuck mine away!!!! I jump on every morning!!! Luckily I know they change every day so if they show a gain I don't dwell on it but then make sure I'm extra good just in case.
All mine do is me an indication cos if I lost 3lbs on mine I've normally lost 2lbs at WI:)

I have no idea what I weigh. My scales stopped working and I never bothered to get a new set.

I weigh at home, and found going to Boots and paying 50p each week is much better than using a home set of scales! And because I don't go past there often, there isn't any temptation to weigh mid week.

I had this one set of scales at home that showed different results (a whole 12lb difference! ) depending weather it was in the hallway or the bathroom!

i go to boots to get weighed too :) xxx

Im binning mine today. By my scales I'd lost 2lbs this week so I was gutted at my WI last night when I STS. If I chuck them then I wont be tempted anymore! x

maybe u should give em to a charity shop or something mate? like woodland girl suggested? i couldnt have scales at my house id go crazy xxx

wish someone would chuck mine away!!!! I jump on every morning!!!
Where do you live- I'll organise an 'intervention' if you want :) The only thing my scales get used for is to weigh my luggage when I go on holiday (and they are always a bit wrong!)

hahaha think I might need one...my morning routine is get up have a pee weigh myself lol:)
I live in Carlisle so if anyone near by come get my scales lol.
Don't think my sis would be too pleased like cos she weighs at home

Do you feel better for weighing yourself all the time? I know it would annoy me and be a demotivator - so I avoid the scales at home completely, but if it helps you carry on. Its when it starts affecting you to the point that you fall off the wagon cos the scales don't say what you want them to that you need to chuck them.

I was a daily weigher when i started SW in July and i agree, if they didnt show a loss ... i would have a totally crap day and think about it all day so now i get on them on the monday morning before weigh in but i cant throw them away because my hubby is using them to monitor his weight at the moment but i wont let them affect my mood again!!!

xxx

If I have seen that I have put on weight it depends on my mood and sometimes I can fall off the wagon and then sometimes I can eat a lot less than I should and I know that is a slippery slope I don't want to be travelling down at all!!

I weigh myself 4 times a day :(
Sadly, my scales always match the SW too.

This week, I've maintained. I've stuck to plan, and I'm gutted, but at least I won't turn up to WI on thurs expecting a great loss. Even if your weight does fluctuate, it won't give me a great loss come thurs.
