In Control

one life only
To be honest, I am the Queen of Excuses. I'm one of those people who panic at a problem instead of finding a solution but I'm getting better! I had to go on a course today and I was worrying about how I was going to mix my shakes but it was absolutely fine. I am so proud of myself for not weakening and reverting to that ridiculous mindset of ... "well it's only for one day, I'm sure it wouldn't hurt and there's nothing I can do about it".
I am delighted about the weight falling off, and friends and family being so astounded at my willpower but, best of all, is the feeling of being in control and not just weak and pathetic! ;)

Like ur new way of thinking jessie :) think im gonna excercise those new realistic and achievable approaches xx

Great post to read....no excuses, that'll be stuck in my head!

Well done hun.. good for you! Being in control of your body is the best feeling x

Ah bless ya Jessie :) Great you are feeling so good - one obstacle at a time to overcome and you are certainly doing fab! :)

Keep up the good work :)

Thank you all for your replies - I really appreciate the support. :D

Now if I can just leave the excuses behind when I go on holiday in a few weeks ...! ;)

Well done u, stay strong it's so worth it!!! X

Thanks Yeye - your stats are still an inspiration to me! :D

Hi Jesse, I was at a work colleague's for lunch today with some other people and while they all tucked in I just had black coffee and water. From there, I had to go and pick my son up from school and take him to a friend's birthday party. Usual array of kids' party food leftovers and cake was on offer to the parents and again, just said 'no thanks'. It helps that I got into my size 16 black skinny jeans for the first time today! A couple of weeks ago I could get into them but they were tight around the middle which resulted in an unacceptable amount of muffin top. Two weeks and another half a stone off and they are looking great. Soooooo happy.

Great willpower, Cate! You must look great in those jeans. It will be a long time before I can fit into a size 16 but I can just imagine. :D

By the way, I've started reading the Harcombe book. I was trying to save it for my holiday reading but the chapter titles sounded so interesting I had to read on. I'm fascinated so far - well-written, informative and convincing. I think it will be my way forward when I finally reach the refeed stage. I feel very safe and relaxed on LT but I worry it might all go pear-shaped when I start eating food again so it's good to have a plan - especially when it makes such sense. Thanks for the recommendation!

It won't be that long. You're doing really well. Just stay strong.

Glad you found it helpful, Jessie. It's definitely the way forward for me.
