7lb loss in 1 week!?

Hi,

I am new here :)

I was doing Weight Watchers (since Jan this yr) and lost 11lb on it. Then about a mth ago I just gave up!! Don't know why. And all I did was stuff my face!! And I put on 4lb.

Last week I started again myself at home ( without attending meetings) and after weighing myself today ( a week later) I have apparently lost 7lb! Can this be right!?

I actually gave myself more daily points: 32 instead of 29 and mostly ate all them and ate ALL my weeklies. I haven't worked out although I did two long walks totalling about 7 miles. Also I have been drinking loads so I don't think it's water weight.

Also one more thing - I did have my period this week.

It just seems really weird to me and surely can't be accurate.

Can anybody shed some light on this please? X x

in your first week on any diet you will loose a good amount and most of it will be retained water . Eating 'bad' carbs ( white bread , pasta ) etc and fat create glycogen stores , and for each 1lb of glycogen you store , you retain 4lb of water ... so as soon as you replace these bad carbs with healthy food your body will release some of this water .. and the increased water you tend to drink on a diet also helps to flush it out , so yes it is possible :)

Thankyou :)

I think you were right as I did weigh myself again and worked out I had only lost 3lb which I'm VERY happy with tho!!!

But the same happened to my mother in law, she lost 8lb in her 1st wk weigh in and then the next week it said she had put on 5lb so what you said makes total sense. I passed onto her what you said and she feels better about it now as she was understandably really upset. So thankyou, that helped loads :) :)
