Going for Goal!
Hi all,
I did the cambridge diet last year, before falling pregnant! I've now had my baby, but with breastfeeding i am doing a food diet and was advised SW by GP today. So I am going this evening to join :D

I was wondering whether anyone could shed light on something...I know when joining as part of the membership payment you get all the blurb and literature of how to do the diet etc, but with weight watchers my friend said she had to pay extra for a starter pack which had a bible of all points values etc, is it the same with slimming world? Is there a book that lists all syn values and shopping etc? Or is there a book you would all recommend for me to buy that will be most useful? If so, what is the cost? I just want to make sure that I have enough money with me!

Thanks in advance!

Hi ya
you do pay an joining fee and you will get a starter pack. In this you find some recipes (especially for the first week), pages upon pages with your free foods, healthy extras and syns.
You will also be supplied with a PIN for their webpage where you can do your food diary online, have access to loads of recipes and other useful tools, such as the syn-calculators.

From SW website: "Join Slimming World before 28th May and get half price membership. That’s only £5.00 to join and £4.95 weekly – a total of just £9.95 to pay on your first night!"

Of course there are various books available to buy from your consultant, such as recipe books, the magazine and various guides, however, this is not a must as there is a wealth of recipe ideas on their website, as well as on here.
Hope this info helps.
