Lost my wedding ring

Juliakno

Taking it Day by Day
Just noticed that I lost my wedding ring, I am sooo annnoyed. Me and my colleagues been combing the office, I checked the car, called nursery but it has just vanished. Now I am really sure I had it this morning, as I generally never take it off. I can only hope I lost it at home. I won't tell DH just yet.

I am just so cross with myself, I knew my rings where getting lose, although they have never slipped of my finger yet, I should have just taken them off and put them somewhere safe, ARGGHHHHH!!!!!!!!

It isn't in your pocket, is it?

I thought that I had lost a ring a while ago but found that it was in my pocket. It had become loose and when I put my hand in my pocket it must have come off. Alternativly it could have come off in your bag or even in your nappy/kiddie nursery bag. (You can tell that I have lost rings before!).

Have a look. If it doesn't turn up quickly I would get some 'Lost' posters made out - there are loads of lovely honest people out there and the sooner you advertise it as missing the more likely it is to be located.

Best of luck.

When I lose anything I say a prayer to St. Anthony ( please St. Anthony find my...) and he has never failed me.

Husband thought it was a load of bull!

But he does it now as well.

He hates to admit it works...

Fingers crossed it will work for you.

oh I really hope you find it soon, it would break my heart to lose mine.

It is a cautionary tale too, as my rings are loose, and I dont wear all of them anymore, except my wedding ring! I will be aware from now on.

Best of luck with your hunt.

I really hope you find it, I would be gutted!!

I thought I'd lost my engagement ring once before and even rang the coach company I'd used that day, when I got home it was on my bedroom floor, it had fallen off when I was drying myself after a shower, hopefully it will be something like that for you, lets hope it fell off before you left the house this morning!!

Hi Julia- same thing happened to me back in May- but mine did turn up again in the bottom of a bag- hope the same for you!
Mine is now on a chain round my neck, waiting for goal until I get it resized.
Fingers crossed for you

Hi Julia

So sorry to read about that; I am now wearing a Russian wedding ring (which was on my little finger) to stop my normal wedding ring falling off. I lost my grandmother's engagement ring so I have every sympathy.

My advice is this, sit down, relax and close your eyes and try to visualise where you last had it. Can you remember the last time you noticed it?

You need to clear your mind to do this but, apparently, it's an effective technique (as well as the prayer to St Anthony!). You may have put it somewhere safe!

Good luck and I'll keep my fingers crossed that you find it.

Take care.

I am so sorry - while I was losing weight I lost a ring I always wore which was the only thing I had of my father's - just like you I had felt it getting looser and hadn't done anything about it.

It eventually turned up in the freezer drawer - it had fallen off when I was getting yet more ice cubes out for my lovely water.

And my mother once found her engagement ring, lost whilst sailing, in her dungaree turn-ups (it was the seventies!).

So visualise it showing up safe, and I wish you all good luck in being reunited with it.

I hope you find your ring Julia,
Try St Anthony - he has a good track record.....

I bought myself a diamond ring to celebrate 3 stone lost. It only fit on my little finger when I bought it but had become loose within a few weeks. I've now taken it off until it fits my ring finger.

Sorry I'm no help - just wanted to sympathise!

As a follow up to this thread, just to say I am still thinking of you & hoping you have found your ring??

Oddly enough, we discussed wedding rings and the like in group tonight & I have decided to remove mine for the time being, unitl my fingers have stabilised at the size they are going to be.

Best of luck with your search.

My mam always used to tell me to stick a pin in a cushion and amazingly everything always used to turn up. Hope you find it.

Snap Mini, me tooo :D my prayer would go something like ' Please st Anthony lead me to my ............ and I'll put X amount in the box at church! ' I went one further when I was pregnant with Jack, and had lost something, can't remember what it was now anyhow I said If I had a boy I'd give him Anthony as a middle name - St Anthony came up trumps again - hence Jack is Jack Anthony :p:p mind you our surname begins with a 'C' so he has Jac as his initials as well as his name IYKWIM;) sorry completley off topic there lol

Julia hope your ring turns up soon - St Anthony is well worth a shot -
stay positive

Thanks all for your encouragment and sympathy. Unfortunately the ring hasn't turned up yet. I went through the whole house and no sign of it, so unless, like some of you said, I will find it in a freezer drawer or the like at one point in the future it's truly gone.
Praying was one of the first things I tried but as they say sometimes prayers don't get answered in the way we want but it helped me to calm down, so that was a good thing at any rate.
DH was sympathetic as well, looking up and down the house. So I will just have to look forward to getting a shiny new one once I am at goal (unless it turns up of course which would still be the preferred option).
And a Final Plea: Please anyone with lose rings TAKE THEM OFF NOW!!!!! Don't think they'll be ok for another few weeks.... (from someone who thought just that and could kick herself now)

I am so sorry that there is no sign just yet, of your wedding ring & I will keep my fingers crossed that you will be fortunate to find it in the near future.

I just had similar conversation with my Dad re my loose wedding ring. I am going to leave it at home during our holiday, but he did suggest, & it might help others as a temporary measure, that "proper" jewellers will fit kind of spring across a rings band, to help hold it in place pending adjustment of the size.

Wish I had known sooner, as I could have had one fitted before we go. Dont think I have time today.....

All the best.

I agree with you.... my rings are loose and i was throwing something in the bin and my wedding and engagement ring slepped off into a horrible big bag of rubbish, took 30 mins to find them.... yuck, but i didnt learn theyre back on.... but gonna remove them now.... lol my girls would b devestated if they got lost, they already after them... lol x

Thank you so much whoever it was that prayed to St Anthony's for my wedding ring to be found!! Much apprechiated. I gave up looking for it for now, hoping it will just turn up one day in the most unlikely of places, nothing else I can do now (other than look forward to a shiny new one, maybe for our 5th anniversary next year....with the all new slim me of course...)
