What are you eating today - Wednesday?

I always find it helps me plan better, and leave nothing to chance, by posting a food diary. Hope some of you join me. I'm no expert at calorie counting by any means and trying to get the balance nutritionally "right" isn't easy. Please don't hesitate to give me pointers if you see I'm wasting calories or could do things nutritionally better! I'm having a day off hot veggies today cos it's going to be 28°C so don't fancy hot food.

So for today:

B: 1/2 grapefruit; homemade muesli with Fitnesse flakes and skimmed milk

L: chicken piece with tupperware full of undressed salad (lettuce, cucumber, spring onions, celery, beetroot, tomatoes), spoonful coleslaw as dressing
1 low calorie yoghurt

Snack: 1 apple

D: 2 egg mushroom omelette with side salad (as above ingredients)

(Piece of fruit in evening, if desperate!)

3L water.
I make it 1,100 calories.

Not got any further than breakfast. For my breakfast i've had 2 weetabix and 3oz strawberries.

No idea what i'm gonna have for my dinner? I'm at work and i'm struggling to find places that do sandwiches with calories on them that i can eat as i don't like mayo or salade cream or salade or anything like that and everything seems to be covered in it.

mmm strawberries! I so love them when in season but they're dreadfully expensive here now, so I guess they're out...

Sarah - the reason you state in your second paragraph is precisely why I started bringing my own food in for lunch. Then I realised the other benefit: no temptation to eat anything else while I'm out and hungry and buying food! You'll also save a fortune in money and get nicer quality ham/cheese whatever in your sandwiches!

I also tend to prepare my dinner the night before too, or the morning, so that there's nothing much to do before I can eat!

Perhaps buy a sliced loaf of wholemeal bread, take a couple of slices out each night and put your own ham, cheese, prawns whatever on for the next day's lunch?

If ever I'm going to lose the plot, it's when nothing is "planned". Might this work for you?

Today I shall mostly be eating.....

B : Two Weetabix with hot milk!

L : Subway Sub Club With Extra Olives

D : Nice salmon salad (lovely salmon fillets I got from the fishmonger) with loads of nice summer salad like radishes, spring onions.

Snacks : Loads of fruit!!

That's a really good idea! I'm gonna try that out and see how i do. Thanks.

I will not be eating cherries today. OMG. I had no idea how cherries leave me feeling so bad:eek:

Really bloated and gassy:eek: Thought I had developed an intolerance to bread, cut the bread and increased the cherries. Whoops. So back comes the bread and out go the cherries. Damn though....was enjoying them.

Great menus up there. Good work chaps:clap: Would tell you what I am having today, but I haven't got a clue:confused:

Joanne. Strawberries over here are half price. Actually, they've been half price for about 20 years or so :D

A punnet is about £1.80 and will keep us going in smoothies and fruit salad (with other bits) for most of the week. Don't know why, but I always thought they would be cheaper in France. I was shocked that they were about £3 for a small punnet:eek:

Karion - re strawberries: Last time in England, I smuggled some back on the ferry! We always do a last shop at a big Tesco Extra somewhere or other, were so surprised at the price of them (and cream cakes, I admit!), that we brought several punnets back with us. (why are cream cakes so cheap in England too?!!!)

I think strawberries must just be considered out of season here. I've not seen a decently priced one in over a month now...

Icemoose - great to see you here, and sounding in fine form. mmm salmon from fishmongers. The best!
