An excited (hopefully) newbie with a few questions!

Happiest Girl :D
Please be gentle with me, lol! ;)

I've searched for answers last night & this morning but I can't seem to find any up to date answers. (Sorry if they are there but I couldn't find them, this board is massive!)

I've been reading up on VLCD, I was going to go the Ebay route but decided that was a silly idea with no guidance, LL was too expensive & then I found out about CD! I have 2 stones to lose (lost 2 over the last 2 years but I'm sick of sticking at the same weight!) I get motivated by results and if I can get the weight off in a few months then the battle I've had for the last 10 years will finally be done, I'm raring to go!!

I just wanted to know, what's an average weekly price for SS in the North West? (I'm 5'3") I'm in Wigan if anybody wants to recommend me a CDC!

Also, will I be starving? I get low blood sugar and eat a lot, how long does the hunger last for? I heard it goes away but when?

I did the Atkins a few years ago & felt miserable & sick, will this be the same? Probably not because of the vitamins & minerals? I've only ever had 1 proper panic attack in my life & that was when I was on Atkins, I came straight off after that. Has anyone had any similar side effects with a VLCD?

Has anyone else gone into it with the same weight to lose as me? How long did it take you, what kind of results did you have?

And lastly (bear with me, I'm shutting up soon, I promise!!) I'm pretty active, I walk a couple of miles to work & back each day or cycle & do a Jillian Michaels dvd/ do Just Dance on the Wii about 5 times a week. Will I have to cut all that out, will I manage the walk?!

Sorry for all the questions, I'm just so excited that this might finally be what I've been looking for, I want to go into it fully informed.

Thanks, and happy Monday (I'm off work today, whoop!):happy036:

Hi there. At 5'3'', you'll be on three packs per day for Soul Source, if that's what you're going to do, although you won't be able to do it for long, as Cambridge only allows people to SS when their BMI is 25+ 1 stone. After that you'd have to move on to 810, which is also three packs a day plus a small meal.

Three packs a day where I live (in the North East, sorry) is about £37, which I feel is pretty good value and less than you'd spend on a week's food :) The best way to find out is to email a bunch of CDs in your area asking for prices, though.

You will be staring for about three days, and those first three days are tough, no doubt about it. After that, though, when ketosis (the fat burning process) kicks in, you'll feel great again. Many people report a boost in energy, although not all. Either way, you won't be physically hungry, but you may experience some 'head hunger'. You don't feel ill on CD, I've found, though sometimes a little tired. It varies in the individual, of course.

Can't help you with the how long, I started with 10 stone to lose :p

Cambridge recommends that if you're Soul Sorcing you shouldn't do any intense exercise in the first two weeks. Walking will probably be okay, especially if you're used to that much activity. If you're finding you don't have enough energy, you could always use a higher plan - you don't have loads to lose so that might be better for you anyway.

Good luck with your decisions :)

Thank you so much for the detailed reply, I really appreciate it :D

Our weekly shopping bill for 3 of us is aound £70 so my SO is paying half the cost with me, as it will save him that in shopping ;)

I've emailed 3 CDC's, just waiting for the replies now! I'm so excited about it. I think the thought of the choice (of what to eat) being taken out of it & grey area of what I am or aren't allowed plus the fast weight loss makes the effort sound worth it.
