Cheated on my diet, help!

Hey all, first post for me on this site. Cheated on my LT diet today and feeling kind of bummed about it...

Driving around with my hubby today I started to get car sick or at least now I know I was car sick, I was contributing my nausea to not having anything in my stomach. After some thought, I said I'd eat to get rid of this sick feeling and we stopped at a restaurant. I had a chicken ceasar salad and about three bites of my son's mashed potatos (he wasn't eating a thing, so he didn't mind).

The thing is once I was out of the car in the fresh air, I started to feel better, but still ate the salad. Have a screwed up my week??? This is Day 3 of Week 2 for me. I had my two shakes during the day and then the salad. Not planning on having anything else for today and getting right back on track tomorrow, but I just feel so bad right now.

Thoughts?

I don't think this will affect your ketosis but I'm not 100% sure as you ate some potato. Don't fret over it any longer, it's done now and you can't change it. You were wise to have a chicken salad with hopefully no dressing. Start afresh tomorrow :) x

Dont worry too much, unless you have had excessive amounts of potato.... the chicken ceaser salad wont do you too much harm!!!
Just get straight back on it tomorrow

Did the chicken caesar salad have croutons? And if yes, did you eat them? I'm sure you won't have done too much damage but if you cheat again, avoid the carbs.

What i dont understand is if a person cheats like JJ above, surely at the end of the week, she will still have eaten far less than she would have normally, hence lose the weight ??

It's not the end of the world, babe. You didn't have a huge binge so it's not a disaster. The worst that could happen is you might lose 2 or 3lbs this week instead of more. As long as you get back on track tomorrow, it's no biggy so don't panic! ;)

Whats done is done and over with. Try and stay strong. Move on and stick with the plan.
Next time, just reach for the water bottle or get a little air. You will feel so pleased when you see the results roll in each week.

Thank you everyone, so very very much. Just to answer the questions though, yes I did eat the croutons (though there really weren't that many) and yes the salad had dressing on it (but thankfully not a lot). Definitely sticking to this diet strictly from now on. It's not worth making myself feel guilty over it. Here's hoping at least one pound comes off at the end of the week :)

JJ i cheated last week and still lost 4.5lbs and it was my second week too! :)

The thing is that if you cheat on carbs and eat over a certain number of grams you can end up putting on water weight which, while it's not fat, it can be demotivating to see the scales shoot up. Also, although all but the most hardened dieters fall off the wagon occasionally, I think it's important not to get into a habit of cheating all the time as this will slow down weight loss which again, can be demotivating for people.
