When to send out invites?

Slimming for my children
Hi guys

Bit of a weird one.

But we are getting my baby boy baptised on 31st July and wondering when to send out invites?

My sister reckons by end of this month as everyone is on holiday but I dont expect people to halt a holiday for us.

I was thinking sending them out around may time or is that too late? X

I think sending them out in March for an event in July is much too early. I think your idea of May is plenty time :). I think 2 months is plenty time like you say with the best will in the world people aren't going to postpone a holiday. People only send wedding invites out about 6 weeks before the date

I'd leave sending the invites out to 4-6 weeks before the event.
Mostly you'd tell people by word of mouth before sending out official invitations and I'm sure the most important people in your life will be there.

My 2 wee ones are being christened the 1st May but I haven't sent invitations yet but all the people I'm inviting already know the date.

6 Weeks before the event, and the etiquette for Wedding Invites is from 6 months before as hotels want final numbers between 1 and 2 months before. :)

As my family is very far flung, I would always send any invites out as soon as I have decided a date. Two months would be too short notice for my family, but I know that's cause we all live so far away from each other. I would send out asap, cause no one ever whinges about too much warning.

We have a wedding on 2nd June - had the formal invite about 2 weeks ago but knew the date a year ago so we could "keep it free". :)
