Hi guys im new here only started CC today after joining SW in november and giving up...

Im determined to loose weight this time...

how many calories should I be eating?

What foods are low in cals?

Regards

I am also calorie counting - I have between 1000 to 1200 cals a day but I also make sure I do atleast 20 to 30 mins excercise a day with around 600 cals burned off in execise

I did the BMR & Harris benedict equation & its 1809.84. Will that be right? So my calorie intake should be 1300?

I have an excercise bike and do that 3 or 4 times a week - I also go swimming once a week and I also do lots of walking. I do have an excercise dvd I have used a couple of times.

Hi all,

I'm kinda new too. Have been in WW since January and having abysmal results even though I've been following the plan so i'm deserting it and trying calorie counting for a change. Hoping it will provide better results.

I've found a great app and website - livestrong.com - that has a great online calorie counter etc so i'm going to use that to track. Aiming for 1200 cals a day and lots of exercise to give it a boost. Fingers crossed x

Gem - 1300 sounds about right if your BMR is 1800 - but that's net calories- try to eat at least some of your exercise calories on top of that if you do some exercise to keep that lean muscle active :)

cat - i'm also a fellow WW abandonee - livestrong is a good site but their food index is pretty rubbish for us in the UK especially as when I was using it not two weeks ago it wasn't letting me input values for foods other than their calories. Many of us are using MyFitnessPal and in my opinion it's way better (it's a bit like facebook for diets!), but it's down to you just thought I'd give you a heads up!

Super thanks! I just went on there and had a look and you're dead right. Seem like there are way more options for UK/IRL calorie counters and i love the option of adding a product if it's not there.

OK, myfitnesspal is my new bible. Will weigh myself in the am and start from there. Clearly doesn't help that i'm going to Spain for a fortnight in 2 weeks but whatever i can manage in the meantime is bound to be an improvement on WW!

Thanks for your help x

Hey Dryads :)

I hope you don't mind me asking what sort of foods do you eat in a day?

I'm starting my 1200 calorie diet tomorrow and hoping to do a hour exercise (just dance on the wii & magic leg trainer) but not sure what to eat? Im scared of over stuffing and falling off the wagon again :(

Thankyou x
