LHS diary - I will succeed!!!!

I have lost count of the amount of diets I have started in the last few years, I have tried every different fad about, but only once been able to get down to the weight I want to be, that was 8 years ago using WW and going to classes. However I think due to it being the first time I'd ever needed to diet and also my wedding as a motivation i managed to lose it all in about 4 months.
Here I am though, nearly 7 years since my wedding, 1 pregnancy later and 3 stone heavier. In the last year I have lost and regained the same 10 pounds at least 10 times, I've tried Atkins, Exante, Calorie counting, WW. In January I did Exante for 3 weeks and lost a stone, but I've since gone back to my old ways and regained 10 pounds of it, so I'm back to feeling horrid and fat at the moment. All the nice clothes for the summer are in the shops and I don't want to buy anything. All my clothes are so worn out because I haven't wanted to buy anything until I have lost the weight.
At New Yerar I said that I will have lost all the weight by 25th March in time for my little boys 3rd b-day, well that is next Friday and not a chance it hell!!!!!

So, Its day one again!!! I'm going to follow the old WW plan as I know it works and I find it easier than calorie counting as I know most the points off the top of my head. My hubby is away this week so that will make it easier for me.

My new aim is 16th June 2011, so 13 weeks so try and lose 2lbs a week. As of this morning I was 11st 9lb and and I would love to get to 9st 10 by then, but if I can get to the 10 stone mark I will be happy. I've then got my holiday for a week and then will try by 20th August to get to 9 stone

I must do this this time. I'm fed up of being the big one in the pictures and I really want to buy some new clothes. I also want to stop my legs from being large and wobbly!!!

I want to do some excercise, and have the Hannah Waterman one, which looks good, the only thing that worries me is that it is 1.5 hours!!! I don't think I will have time to do that 3 times a week. Has anyone else got this DVD? Can you just do certain sections to cut the time down? Or do have have to complete it all?

Sorry for the massively long post. I'm going to update this everyday with daily food diarys and how I am getting on.
Here are my rules for this diet!!
1) stick to 18 points a day
2) cut down alcohol comsuption!
3) excercise 3 times a week
4) be honest with my self about what I am eating,
5) cut out crap food and eat smaller protions

Hello :)

I never would have thought I'd see my name in the same sentence as 'exercise' and 'dedicated'....... whoever would have thought it?!

Anyhoo, I'd be delighted to give you the benefit of my limited experience! I'm day 23 into Jillian Michaels 30 Day Shred and I can NOT recommend it enough :D It's tough, I won't deny that....... in fact it's actually brutal in some parts but the best thing is, it's only half an hour long (and that includes warming up and cooling down) so it's much more doable than an hour and a half (good grief, who has the time for that?!). There's 3 levels of torture ;), you start at level 1 and when you're ready move to level 2 and so on.

I started to see results within a few days (I promise!) and now 3 weeks on I've lost 2" from my chest, 2" from my waist, 3" from my hips and 1" from each thigh. I'm not far off going down a dress size but I am combining it with healthy eating too.

I hope that helps. As I said, I can't recommend it enough AND (if you needed any further incentive) it's only £4.99 on Amazon delivered at the moment :)

Thanks for both the replies, looking forward to talking to everyone and getting motivation from you all!
Day one was a disaster!!! Thats so bad for day one isn't it!!! I started the day feeling so positive, had my fruit for breakfast, no snacking, but then at lunchtime saw a friend and we went to the dreaded TGI's! I had sesame chicken strips, which looking in my WW book are only 10 points (although they were so greasy I think they must have been more, then I had the CHicken finger BLT for my main!!! at 23 points!!! For dinner I had a WW meal (why??!! I wasn't even hungry!) and a load of vegetables as I felt so unhealthy. SO a total of 37 points on my first day where I was meant to so only 18!!!!!:mad:
I know its only down to me and I have to do this, my plan for the day today doesn't really sound much better, I've just had weetabix and semi skimmed milk for bf - approx3 points, lunch is a WW meal and salad - approx 3.5 points, then my mum is coming round tonight with an Indian she has bought!!! I've asked her to get a veg curry and some rice, so I'll minimize the damage. Its also from Waitrose so not a takeaway. (listen to me trying to justify it!!)
After your post MaisieMoodle, I'm going to give the 30 shred a chance! Have you lost weight as well as inches while doing it? I've read a lot of reviews for it that say weight loss stops as you are gaining muscle.
Tomorrow I think I might be going to a frends after work, and she isn't the healthiest of eaters - might have to make my excuses for dinner there!! So much for this week beig easier with hubby away!!

I have still lost weight while doing the Shred (see my sig below - I started shredding just before week 4 weigh in) but not loads, as you can see. I have lost inches though, as I mentioned above...... I'm in clothes that last fit when I was about 10lb lighter so it's definitely working but I admit, I have been a tiny bit disappointed in the weight loss since I started it, espcially as the box advertises "lose up to 20lb in 30 days"

Don't beat yourself up over your bad day. Draw a line under it and move on. Hope today has been better for you :)

Hello LHS, just thought I'd chime in on the gaining muscle and not losing weight issue.

I think you may want to consider whether you are interested in losing scale weight or losing body fat? If you embark on an exercise regime it is likely your body will change in composition - losing body fat and possibly gaining a little muscle (although this is not easy on a low calorie diet).

This doesn't mean you won't be progressing, you just may need different criteria by which to judge your progress: if you are fitter, stronger and smaller across your various measurements I think that is far more exciting than being lighter on the scale.

Just my two pence

Lift x
