CV experts/HR people can someone help me please?

big bear

A bear on a mission!
My maternity leave runs out on the 22nd April & unfortunately I need to go back to wirk. My last job was a 6 month contract which lead up to my maternity leave.

Anyhow I've seen a part-time job that has suitable hours to work around the kids & my H night work. I need to send them a CV.

I need someone that works in the recruitment/HR field to check my CV for me & help me with a couple of things.

Any one out there I can email my CV to & you can give me your honest opinion & help me please?

It's a very competitive market at the moment & I'm sure there will be hundreds of applicants & I want mine to stand out.

Thanks

Sorry was on my iPhone and dropped the blinking thing and the message sent!

Start again, do you have a job description for the position you are applying for?

You need to tailor your CV to match the criteria of what they are looking for.

Do you have to email or post a CV into them?

I don't work in HR or Recruitment but I am an ops manager and have to filter through CVs regularly.

1st trick is to get yours noticed especially like you say because the Market is so competative right now. A good way to do this is to use coloured paper but only if you are posting your CV to them obviously.

Your CV needs to sell you and your skills but not bore the heck out of the person reading it, so short & precise facts about your skills will do this.

3rd tip, a cv should never really be more than 2 pages, if you've had lots of jobs, maybe omit the non relevant ones otherwise it may make your prospective employer think your into job hopping!

Hope this helps x
