Hi

New here, so apologies if this has been asked and answered before. Does stewed fruit have syn value? If so, why?
After all, fruit is free and so are sweeteners.

Thanks in advance

Only fruit in it's raw form is FREE.

Tinned, Stewed/Cooked or Blended fruit has syns and doesnt qualify for a free food allowance. Same goes for fruit juice.

Just think of how long it takes to eat an apple. Then imagine that same apple cooked, the quantity becomes a lot less and is also less filling. The same applies to blended fruit in a smoothie for instance, it would take you quite a while to eat all the fruit in it's raw form that is contained in a smoothie and it would be far more filling, however all that fruit would be gone in a couple of gulps in it's blended form and your body probably wouldnt even recognise you had consumed it.

Tinned fruit etc is either preserved in fruit juice/or syrup both of which are not free. So again have syns.

Thanks so much for this :D

Would have thanked/replied earlier but keep losing track of where I've been on the site
:newbie:

Will get the hang of it soon I hope
