Been 100% completely but am craving the need to eat so on sat night I may go for tea to my fave restaurant andx have roasted red pepper to start and then the main is....... lasagne :( ((so yummy)) is it gonna screw my weightloss up completely? Help advice please xxx

yes completely - sorry I know thats not what you wanted to hear. Neither option there is good and will knock you right out of ketosis and you will be back to square one with all those horrible first few days to get through again.

Most of the weightloss in the first week is through depleting your glycogen stores and water - and eating "normally" again this early on will just replenish it all and the weight will go back on. I read a a great post about miners earlier this week which really helped to explain how it works - will see if I can find it.

If you really really have to eat consider looking at the ss+ or 810 options (basically white meat - say grilled chicken and 2 or 3 spoonfuls of either green veggies or salad leaves) I'll be back in a sec with the full breakdown of the 810 - at least that way you can eat if you really want to. You are also far more likely to stay in ketosis - which means you stay burning fat.

To be honest though half the battle is getting over that "need " to eat - its how CD works. I'll be back with the links

Heres the 810 option - off to find the miners now!!

Here you go heres how surfhoney expalins the process

What happens when you start a diet like CD is this:

In the first week a lot of what you Lise is water and glycogen weight. In some people glycogen stores can weigh up to 4lbs!!!

The second third and sometimes fourth weeks your body is adjusting to the new lower calories. It works to it's own times scale and has no idea you've put it on a diet. The body still functions in a very primitive fashion.

Because you've put it on a VLCD it automatically assumes that it's starving to death and hangs onto it's fat stores initially, then after a couple of weeks it realizes that it's getting these 500 ish calories on a regular basis and it won't starve to death, this is when your fat reserves get used up.

By eating things that have lots of carbs in your body will take the easy option always, and burn the carbs for fuel first, before turning to the harder to break down stuff - fat!! Once the carbs are gone on then does it knuckle down and start on the fat.

I like to think that there's little miners inside, they pick the walls they have to tunnel through. Iif you have high carb high cal food wall they choose to tunnel through is going to be the clay carb glycogen wall, cos they're lazy little monsters. Then once that wall has gone they get bored and make a start on the harder fat wall. Occasionally they go on strike, hoping that they'll get another clay wall to tunnel through.

I prefer to punish my mini miners by making them work at the fat wall, this keeps me happy lol.

I hope this helps you understand what's happening to your body without sounding too much like a lecture and I hope you don't think that the miner analogy is too patronizing but it's how it was explained to me.

Thanks seats not read the one on the whole process yet. I feel well miserable now tho!!! Thought I cld dip out for one meal then get back to it :( !! On the 810 is it 3 sachets? What wld happen if u only had 2? Also what is diff between 810 and ss+ no of sachets and amount of food wise??? Thanks for ur help, desperate to lose 1-2 stone as quick as poss but scared about I get back to eating and going VI but keeping it off. All help is truly appreciated.. also just had first cheat, small bit tuna sub :( must be on a downer x

Don't do it.

Climbing back on the wagon is never as easy as you think it's going to be.

How many times do you want to do Cambridge, hun? Just once - or dozens of times?

Get the weight off, work up through the steps - and STAY SLIM!! Doesn't that sound good? Much tastier than red pepper and lasagne!

810 is still 3 shakes and you add the meal in as well. SS+ and 810 you still have the 3 sachets you just have less of the same food on SS+. from memory its 2 tablespoons of veggies instead of 3 but I can't remember the meat weights etc. Again will see if I can find an add in for you. Basically because you are still doing a VLCD (SS+) or LCD (810) you need the 3 shakes to make sure you get all your nutrients, vitamins, minerals, etc etc. Cutting the shakes will not make you lose any quicker - if anything its more likely to make your body hang on to what its got

Sorry if I made you feel miserable - its really not a dip in and out diet - if you do that its a very expensive way to not get very far . 1 or 2 stone will fall off you if you stick with it - honestly - particularly id you SS it. I lost 2 stone in my first 4 weeks, and had lost 40lbs in 7 weeks - which is about what you have to go?. OK I had a bit (aka lot) more than you to lose but you will still get incredible results - just give it a chance. After all 7 weeks will go in a flash and then you will not only have lost 1 or 2 stone but could be nearly at your goal - by Easter - ready to enjoy the summer.

I replied to your other thread about the "bite" as well.

I'm really scared about going back to eating as well - and its not that far away for me. I was terrified when I had to do my AAM (Add a meal ) week at week 12 because I really though that I would just go mad and blow it - I didn't but was scared. I'm due another AAM week next week (week 24) and then its only going to be 7/8 more weeks before I have to start eating again. I don't know how its going to work but my plan is to work up through all the steps - hopefully by sticking to the rules 100% so retraining my eating habits. Well thats my theory - feel free to come and shout at me once I am in that phase to make sure I do. I couldn't bear to have got this far and then ruin it for myself!

Rather than worrying about eating again just focus on how well you are doing, how great it will feel to be slim and what a fab summer you will have - deal with the worries about re-eacting when you get a bit closer to it ;-)

the lovely ladies are right hun , if you are not going to be 100% then SS really isnt going to work for you . Lasagne is just a big pile of carbs and most ( if not all ) of the weight you have worked to get off will pop back on ! I know its tough but if you need to eat then I think you would be better doing something like SW , as CD will not work for you .

The keeping it off is hard and I have just moved up to 1000 plan as only have 13 lb to go .. and its hard , but if you follow all the steps 100% then you will leanr how to live healthily

Good luck xxx

hi , everyone moves up the steps differently , your CDC will have her own ideas and will discuss with you how to do it , you ave to move up to the 810 plan when your BMI gets to 25 , then depending what you want and how you are doing you can stay on 810 till goal then move up the steps a week or 2 at a time , or you can start moving up earlier as you still loose on the lower steps ,..... I have 13 lb to go and have just moved from 810 to 1000 as I want to start exercising and also my CDC finds that starting at this stage helps boost your metabolism back up ready for maintaining .
