New and Obese?!

Hi all

It's official from the nurse last week, I am obese! Now that I have to terms with being called this for the first (and hopefully last) time I now intend to do something about it and have decided on SW.
My doctors can provide this for me for free although due to popular demand they are waiting on the vouchers to be able to get me started so I have started myself today.
Have I done this right for a 'Green' Day?
Milk (HE)
Porridge (HE)
Jacket Potato with baked beans
Mullerlight Yoghurt
Omlette (2 eggs, 28g cheese, 1 slice ham) SW chips & beans
Mullerlight yoghurt
2 plums

Have I gone too mad on the yoghurts? They were all I had until I go shopping tomorrow?

Looking forward to doing this diet.

Those meals seem fine. The cheese and ham in the omelette will have to either be healthy extras as well (or you can syn them instead).

On the green or red day you're allowed to have 2 A choice healthy extras (milk, cheese, etc), and 2 B choice healthy extras (on a green day this could be meats, bread, cereal, hi-fi bar, etc, etc).

But if you decide to try an extra easy day in the future then you would only be allowed 1 A choice healthy extra and 1 B choice healthy extra.

And I've found it's ok to have a few yoghurts a day. It is best to check which Mullerlights you are eating though as I've looked at the syn calculator online and it says that the Mullerlight with black cherry underlayer is 2 syns and the cheesecake Mullerlights are 1 syn each.

Good luck with your weightloss for the future! You can do it!

Thank you. I'm not sure what you mean by extra easy? It doesn't say anything about that in my book (it is the old food optimising one though) which I have borrowed until I start the classes.

Will have to read about that on the site.

Extra easy is a newish plan I think (they didn't have it when I did Slimming World a few years ago). It basically lets you eat a mixture of meat and carbs as long as you fill a third of your plate with superfree foods. You get less healthy extras though.
When you join classes properly and get the new food optimising book it will be easier to understand as I don't think I can explain it well enough!
In my first week I had a mixture of extra easy and green days and managed to lose the 8.5 pounds so it must work!

Let me know how you get on with your weightloss anyway! Good luck!

Hi Laney
Well done on taking the first step, that was the hardest one. I have only ever done Extra Easy as it seems to be the best of both worlds, just extra restrictions on Healthy As and Bs. It has worked for me and I am sure you will succeed whichever one you go for. Don't forget you can mix them up - you could have a red day then a green day and then an extra easy day. Just don't change half way through a day.
