I think it's easy to let things get out of control over the festive period but I would suggest having a very honest word with yourself, go back to basics and take one day at a time. It's not Christmas anymore so get right back to it! You're the only one who can do it chick so make it happen! Sorry for the short post but I didn't want to read and run lol!

Good luck getting back on track :)

Hey Charliebear, I've been in the same situation as you, and my diet would always start tomorrow, and come March, I'd had enough of putting on weight and feeling out of control. What I did was join this board, and put myself on a sensible eating plan rather than any diet, and I've just taken one day at a time.

For example, I've cut out snacking in-between meals, and if I am hungry, I'll have a piece of fruit (lower in a calories and much better for my body - BONUS), I've cut out naughty foods except for the day I weigh myself, and I've tried to do some exercise almost every day, even if it's just going for a little walk or doing crunches at bed time.

Key message though is taking it one day at a time, and infact even break it down to one hour at a time.

I also built myself a little network of friends who can support me during low times. SO if I desperate fancy some chocolate, I would call/email/messenger one of them and they would talk me out of it.

I hope this helps, good luck :)

im the same, i thought 'sure its xmas' its meant to be the time to eat and be merry! then xmas is over, and you dont have that excuse anymore!
then you reason with yourself, sure its the winter, its cold, dark and miserable outside, and its easy to sit in front of the TV snacking away!
has to be a time to stop excuses, and take some positive steps!
good luck!!

Well first and foremost Congrats for wanting to at least think it's time to change your eating habits.

As far as eating regulary can you bring snacks with you to work?

A meal planner is a great idea check out slimmingeats.com (britmumincanada's site)

A snack can be a simple left over from the night before I find keeping the 'good' food at hand also keeps the metabolism active throughout the day. Good luck everyone!

You know what? It's good to know that others feel the same as I do. I've been struggling in recent times and I've found some good advice here - so thank you for helping me out (without even realising it!). I'm going to have that honest chat with myself today and get back to basics - Thank You!
