Hi all, ive done slimming world quite successfully in the past-once I got my head in the right place, but then fallen of the wagon too often. I've now played around with the same 2 stone for over a year and enough is enough. I've got far too complacent over the SW plan so decided to switch. I did ww for a few months about 3 yrs ago so understand the plan-just gotta get used to the change in pts. A friend did the same and he's so far lost most in 6 weeks doing ww as he did over a yr in SW! I'm not going to group at the moment as I work shifts, and have sessions at the gym with a personal trainer-so have signed up to 3 months E-source and will get weighed at the gym. Have been over on the SW boards and always found everyone very friendly and helpful so thought I'd come and say hello over here.

Welcome from another ex-SWer!! I found it quite hard to get out of the SW mind set when it came to free foods, especially packets, they can be pretty high in points! (pasta n sauce, savoury rice types) but find I eat a varied diet now rather than jacket potato and beans every day!! the sky is the limit on WW for me!

Good luck with your journey!

Thanks ladies! I may well be calling on you for advice! Will prob take me a week or so to eat up all the aforementioned SW free stuff tho! Lol

Hello Welsh tigger. I am about to do the same. I will go to my first WW class on Tuesday. I have struggled with SW and attempted WW but half heartedly and founf the swich over quite challenging. I will approach the PP as though it is a brand new system and see if I can get SW out of my head. I got tired of having to count healthy things eg multi grain bread but I could have two unhealthy alpen bars for free, I hated using my syns for my main meals but I got too bored if I didn't, Wishing you the best of luck x

Hi - good luck. I was doing SW too. I have been using my Pasta n Sauces to make pasta bakes for me and the OH - they don't work out too bad divided by two with some chicken and broccoli thrown in. And we had savoury rice last night and they are 6pps for half the packet which is no more than the recomended 60g of dried rice. So you can still use them up, just not eat them willy-nilly :)

Hi im an ex SW too. I love PP as it is as close to normal eating as I can possibly get. Good luck, once you get your head around it im sure you will love it too.

Ah thanks for that re the pasta and sauce-as I've got loads lol

Hey! I am an ex SW girly! I am joining WW tomorrow. I am quite nervous as I have been on SW for so long and an emotional eater. I could stuff my face silly on a bad day.

Good luck! x

Hello and welcome!!
I have never done SW before, but hopefully you will find ProPoints fab! I love it as I can eat whatever I want :) If you need any help we are all here! :D

I did SW too and couldn't lose with 'free food'

I'm really happy with WW and did panic the first couple of days and felt a bit hungry as I was so used to stuffing myself with 'free food' but after that never felt hungry and lost consistently the 3 weeks I've been on it.

Good luck.

It is very interesting the number of people having made the decision to leave SW. I am so looking forward to eating foods i enjoy without worrying that i would be having too many healthy extras etc. Good luck everyone xx

Hi, iv done sw & ww but find ww better for me as i can have any foods & point them, with sw i would think a certain food was 'free' & panic when it wasnt, i think sw is a healthier plan if your up to date on the products but with ww you can fit in any food you want

I did sw and hated it! It makes no sense to me that carbs and lean proteins are free! I'd feel I could stuff my face, ww is more structured and (I believe) is a better lifestyle change! You can eat anything on it. It's all about choosing the nest food for your weight (how many points you have) and portion control. Plus did you see the syns in chocolate. It was like entering a failing agreement to me! I'm here on ww after losing 1 1/2 stone last time and feeling great about myself, then life and a serious tragedy in my boyfriends family pushed me off course and my love of choc pushed me up by a stone. But I'm here and loving it. I don't use all my dailies every day. As I'd prefer to have 2 left over then to stuff my face, plus for 2 points I'd only eat a snack size dairymilk or something. But ww is brill and I think with slight adjustments it fits comfortably into anyone lifes. ESP after like 2 weeks. You just know pp and feel like you always did :)
Good luck and enjoy your new lifestyle :)

I was following SW but started WW on Sunday - have recently been diagnosed with ibs and was really, really struggling with the amount of fruit and veg and quorn on SW, especially on the extra easy plan. My gp thinks it's a good idea to try WW and so far it seems far more flexible and varied than SW. I'm finding it an adjustment because some of my "free" casseroles I'd cooked up and frozen have quite a lot of points, so will need to rethink that. I'm using them up first, and just counting up the points, for now! Waste not want not...
Nice to know there are other newbies out there too.

I was exactly the same. I'd made a yummy syn free soup last week on SW but cos it's got baked beans, lentils and kidney beans in, it's about 30PP for the pan!

I'm really enjoying it so far! Take today for example-simple things I know-but it was great to be able to make some toast and have a toasted ham and salad sandwich without using syns and panicking that the bread was from the wrong size loaf!!! Just enjoying using my PPs on whatever I want. Have made the curried BNS soup for later after the gym :)

Hi,
I've also made the move from sw to ww and i'm finding it quite hard at the mo'
i find myself reaching for things free on sw but that are really high in pp! Making a list tonight and going shopping tomorrow....gonna get sw out of my head! lol

x

It is hard to move over at first but you have to put SW and syns to the back of your mind, it can be scary when you total what "free food" is in pp so just best not too........mind you can be a good indicator as to why the losses were not happening on SW.
Different plans def suit diff people, I have friends who eat endless "free" food and lose tons.....I used to eat far less and losses were never consistent

WW is a great flexible and easy to follow plan :)

Made the BnS soup yesterday but didn't put the curry powder in it! Have just had a bowl now with a teaspoon of Reggae Reggae sauce stirred thru! I love that stuff and chuffed that it's soo low in pp :)
