1/3rd Superfree with Curry?

Hi everyone

I'm not very adventurous or experienced with curries and such - I've tried a few out but shepherd's pie etc is more in my comfort zone!

Anyway, at our last tasting evening, one of our ladies brought the Ainsley Harriott lentil dahl that she'd added chicken to. It was so yummy (and free I think) so I bought myself a packet to try at home.

Now, being inexperienced with curried stuff, I can't work out how to get my 1/3rd superfree with this. Some green beans and cauli perhaps? What would you guys suggest?

Thanks! x

Green Beans or a Massive Salad. Or with daal, chopped onions, toms, green chillis and lemon juice :)

I like a big salad with my dhaal. I usually have cucumber, lettuce & tomato. It's a good way to cool your mouth down if a curry's too hot too :)

Mushrooms and onions are superfree so add loads of those. Cauli is also really good in curry. If you make a tomato based curry then passata counts towards the 1/3.

any veg that you like either thrown it in or have on the side :) x

cheats raita - seeded cucumber chopped small, mixed in with 0% yoghurt and a teaspoon of mint sauce (low sugar) and a pinch of salt

Thanks everyone for lots of great ideas.

I can't imagine curry with salad but, seeing as it comes so highly recommended, I shall give it a go!

I tend to throw some spinach in the curry itself along with mushrooms and onions and serve it with aloo gobi (cauliflower, onion & potato cooked with spices) delish! And fat free natural yoghurt mixed with cucumber, mint & seasoning x

Carrot salad......wee bit grated fresh ginger, finely diced red chilli-I used half of one, lemon zest, grated carrot, seasoning and lemon juice. You can add some toasted flaked almonds I did about 10g and the syns were low and worth it.
