I have been on the cd for 5 weeks now, this being my 6th week, i have lost a stone in that time and now need advice, my partner has never supported this diet and keep telling me it's not good for me etc... and try and watch me eat every meal, so have been a bit difficult for me to ss, however he wants to take me out for lunh this afternoon and I know he will watch me eat to make sure i am eating etc... i am afraid if i eat I will come out of ketosis, i have worked really hard to get in to being that i love food, my question is, is there anything i can eat that wont bring me out of ketosis completely?

Hun your due an AAMW any way so Chicken or white fish( no salt or fat added though) for salad( no crutons) have green leaves, if you have that kind of thing you'll be fine.

Actually why not have 4oz of reduced fat cottage cheese and green salad? that wont bring you out.

I have been asking myself the same question, he just wont and have not been, the only way i have got this far is the support from you guys! he don't believe that liquid diets are good for you and it would make you ill.

My OH was a bit worried about me doing a VLCD, so i got my doc to talk to him (my GP is very supportive about me doing this). I also took him along with me to see my CDC, so she could also assure him that I'd be ok. My hubby now understands that this is a healthy way to lose weight as long as i follow it properly & don't cut out shakes, he has seen me change into a much happier person & is extremely supportive. Maybe you could speak to you OH & ask him to see you CDC or GP to re-assure him....Just a thought!....xxx

Hi Nessa

I hope i am not speaking out of turn but i think your husband is being unfair.
I dont expect my husband to understand everything I do but I do expect him to support me in my choices.

Do you want to go for a meal and break your diet?

Its your decision but dont be bullied into by anyone.

I hope you come to the right decision for you.

Is he supportive when you try to lose weight by traditional diets? Wondering if he feels threatened by your weight loss,(had a husband who wanted me fat and miserable) and is trying to sabatage your efforts.

my OH was'nt supportive at first, but once he saw the weight coming off and that i was healthy, he's ok with it now.

My husband wasn't supportive when I started, saying "pay me £35 a week and I'll tell you not to eat", but now I've lost over 3 stone, he's even considering doing it himself to lose that ever growing beer-belly.

Only trouble is, everytime I'm moan at him for not doing anything or staying out after work for a beer without telling me, he says that the diet is affecting my mental state!! Good excuse for him!!!

Pay no attention, once you're at goal, he'll eat his words and if you have to eat just stick to protein and veg.
