Me as I want to look xxx
Hi there,

I have been on LT for 9 days and prior to this have been invited to a posh meal by relatives coming over from the U.S.

I don't feel I can refuse as they love to see my family and me, but don't think it would look right sat there with water. It's not until the 17th August.

Also would I be ill :sick0019: if I ate then for the first time in weeks?

Any advice would be very much appreciated.

Hiya

My advice is not to eat, if you are on the diet and doing well then why rock the boat, however good the meal may taste it is nothing compared to being slim so please please please either go to the meal and have packs (it can be done) and it doesn't stop you being with and enjoying family and friends.

I know people do stop and get back on a VLCD but there are many people who don't and would hate for one meal out to stop you reaching the goals you have set yourself.

Can you meet your family after the meal and drive therefore you have missed the meal and wont have to drink?

Thanks for the advice. I can't really miss the meal as they are here for two days before going to see other relatives, but understand where you are coming from. I do not want to ruin my efforts and acheivement. I will ask prior if the restaraunt will make up the shake. Thanks very much xxx

I am sure they will help you out!!

And the feeling of acheivement afterwards when you stuck to the diet will just be wind to your sails and show you that you are strong enough to complete the diet.

Go for it!

I have to agree with Mike - you will feel guilty if you stop and eat the meal, but feel brilliant and proud if you sit there with your LT! Why dont you have the soup? That way they can make you up a bowl of soup and you will feel more like a part of the party! I went out for lunch with friends this week and I sat in the pub with my flapjack on a plate, whilst they tucked into fish and chips - and I felt so proud for not succumbing!

After all, the main reason for going out is to spend time with your relatives, not to eat food!!

Thanks guys,

I must admist I was a little browned off with LT last night, the daytime doesn't bother me but at night I am used to a glass of wine and my tea. I think basically I may have been looking for permission but I will stay fast as I really really want to loose the wight this time round.

Many thanks again for your advice and time

I know what you are going through - I used to have 2 glasses of wine every night without fail - happily I have got used to going without this now, and even the 12 bottles of wine on my wine rack are no longer really tempting!! You'll be fine :)

You can do it Melin!

When I was on LL last year I went on holiday to Disneyland after only being on the diet for 1 week and copius amount of meals out and I managed it so if I can you def can. It does feel a little odd sitting in a restaurant and not eating (spec when it was just me and my B/F) but after a while you forget and I even went to an indian restaurant and got them to make my shake up for me to.

The sense of achievement after is so great it far outweighs the food trust me! Im sure your family will also b v proud of you for having such good willpower and sticking to it - showing you determination!

Good Luck whatever you decide to do

:) N xx
