hair loss side effect

I have read that one of the side effects is hair loss. I'm on day one of TS and was just wondering if this is a common side effect? Does everyone get loss? Have people doing TS not had hair loss or does it happen to everyone. I'm hopefully going to be on this for about nine months. Is it with people who are on it for a long time? Sorry for silly question but I am worried I will lose some hair. Lisa

Its not a common side effect but it can happen. Ive been on Exante 6 months now with no problems

I did a VLCD before for 8 months and had no problems right up until my last few weeks on the plan when I did notice I was shedding more hair everytime I washed it. It wasn't extreme like I was going bald or anything but it was definitely thinner and my hairdresser noticed. Good news was that as soon as I returned to 'normal' eating that new hair started to grow back. Try not to worry about it as it does not happen to everyone and if you do shed some hair then it does grow back anyway.....

I have been reading up a lot about this as I have been affected, I actually have a small bald patch and all over my hair is very, very thin after once being thick, I have also noticed its just not growing...lol which could mean a saving of ££ at the hairdressers haha!

If you read the other food replacement forums on here, it does seem that a lot of people suffer from it BUT it seems when eating normally it goes back to normal. I have been advised that when I do first start to eat normally, I may shed some more which will feel alarming BUT its because my hair is starting to grow again. So will be a good thing.

When we are on such a low amount of calories, our body looks after priorities and hair is not one of them I am afraid :(

.................I have been on the diet since July last year and have had no problem with hair loss/thinning at all. Hope this helps xx

I have just noticed (in the last week or so) two rather worringly bald patches above my temples... eek...

Also shedding an awful lot of hair when washing/blow drying/brushing etc.

I started losing quite a lot of hair after 3 months on it, AAM doesn't seem to make any difference to me. I'm persevering as I'm more determined to lose the weight than the short term hair thing, hoping it will all grow back afterwards - for me it's overall thinning (but I had really thick hair to start with, so currently it's down to 'normal'... but still coming out in handfuls every day)

 I'm going to do WS I think so hopefully won't be a problem. I don't want bald patches lol x
