reping power question plse

Hi there i was just wondering where the rep button is my rep power has recently been going up and i wasnt sure how and why (deeerrrrr)is it not anything to do with the thumbs up sign in the bottom right corner of peoples posts.
(sorry if this is posted in the wrong place wasnt sure what it would come under).

it is at the bottom left of your post under statistics there are 3 icons it is the middle one x
