Smoked Haddock Fishcakes ....Alli diet plan book

serves 4....306cals , 9.5g fat per portion (a portion is 2 fishcakes),

400g undyed smoked haddock
400g maris piper potatoes
40g(1tbsp) reduced fat creme fraiche
25g olive spread
15g chopped fresh parsley
black pepper
1 medium egg beaten
108g (3 slices) wholemeal bread made into breadcrumbs


1) place fish in pan cold water and bring to simmering point, cook for 3-4 mins, remove from water, drain and remove skin
2) boil potatoes until just soft
3) drain and mash potatoes with the creme fraiche and olive spread
4) stir in fish and parsley, season with black pepper
5) allow to cool for 15 minutes before shaping into patties, use a little flour to prevent sticking
6) preheat oven to 200c/180fan/gm6, lightly spray baking tray with low cal spray
7) place beaten egg and breadcrumbs in 2 bowls
8) dip fishcakes in egg to cover,then breadcrumbs....
9) bake for 15-20 minutes until golden brown

Got them cooking as we speak!!

Slight twist on your recipe in that I'm using tuna instead. It was being reduced at my local supermarket and my friend works so I got a lot for not a lot!! Using half in the fish cakes, the rest is freezing for when I've decided what to do with it!!

Can't wait to try them!

You can use any fish you want in this recipe I bet the tuna was nice !!
