.Nicki.'s Diary - restarting tomorrow

.Nicki.

Minimin Addict
So I've been umming and arring for a few days now and i've decided to give slim fast a bash. I've done celebrity slim before but i never last very long because i can't cope without carbs. Thought i'd start a new diary just because.....
I've been on ww since new year and lost a stone in 4 weeks but i've put almost all of that back on not going to make excuse i've not been doing it properly, too much going on with a poorly husband and money troubles to worry about how many points are in this and that. Hoping that this will solve that issue and i can just lose weight without having to think about it too much.
Going to get the bits and bobs after work tomorrow as Tesco have them on offer, thinking its deffo going to help with the budget just need to research some 600cal recipes and i've signed up to myfitnesspal to track my cals, good to see the have the shakes listed.

welcome to doing slimfast, it really is good i think and i find it quite easy. i have to admit that i buy ready meals mainly for my main meal as they are already cal counted so i find it easier. Have a look at ShapeUpClub as well for tracking calories, very useful. ShapeUp Club xx

Thanks for the link chick, signed up to it as well

Well powder is purchased (Chocolate), along with a load of stuff for snacks and healthy dinners oh and ice! Blender is out and ready for action tomorrow morning, i'm trying to be positive that i'll enjoy the shakes buuuuuut i'm not really all that confident. Probably a good time to start the diet as my wisdom tooth has started to errupt again (tends to move alot) only its going into my cheek so i'm not really feeling food at the moment. I'm going to have Tuesday as my weigh day because i never work Tuesdays so will just weigh when i wake up.
Trying to think how to manage the shakes at work because i work 4 days a week 7am- 3.30pm and there is no kitchen, might have to take the plunge and buy the bars but they didn't have any peanut ones in asda.

Pretty good, very suprised how much i enjoyed the shakes, blending them with ice made them thick and yummy. But i'm so hungry now :( i might have something else to eat but stay below 1500 cals then i can lower the snackage the more i lose! Even after 1 day i am a lot happier then i was on ww because i don't have to work anything out which was a mission (and the bane of my exsisting)

I actually enjoy the shakes, well the chocolate one at least. I have also come up with a solution about work (would have done it today but i was allowed home at 10am because they're over hours, wohooooo) I make my breakie shake before work, which i drank on the way and i didn't feel sick like i usually do with breakie. I took a couple of apples which are just under a 100cals and then a lunch box with a little ham and coleslaw and loads of cucumber which is about 130cals, then when i get home i can have a snack, a shake and dinner.
I was pretty hungry last night so i did have another snack, finished the day on 1443 cals which i'm pretty pleased about. I know slimfast is around 1200 but i have a pretty long journey and i was eating twice that on ww, so i have decided to aim for 1500 cals a day and then as i lose weigh, if i hit a dreaded plateau then i can drop the cals down. This be the plan anyway.

Hi Nicki Welcome Sorry to hear about your worries, at least SF works out pretty cheap if you buy it on offer. Be nice to have a new face on the block.

Don't ask me what happened because i couldn't tell you, just decided i needed a domino's last night, although it wasn't that nice in all honesty. I haven't had any shakes today because i knocked the tub over and lost most of it and i really missed them today, bit odd after only 2 days but i do really enjoy them.
So decided to get back on track tomorrow and stick with the shakes, might try some bars as well. Going to plan all my food for the week and hopefully that will keep me on track, going to try and stick to the 3 snacks, 2 shakes, 1 meal but maybe beef up the calories on each.
Started the wii fit again yesterday and burned 218cals in 30 mins which is pretty good for a girl that struggles to get off the sofa, haven't done any today because hubbs came home early and i'm too embarrased to do it when he's around but i'll do it tomorrow when he comes home from work. If someone has any spare willpower going can you send it over to me. x

This is an attempt to distract myself from the call of the kitchen cupboards. I'm hungry but trying to wait until 1pm for my shake, i'm not sure if i'm actually hungry or i'm just missing the habit of eating. I don't think watching the food channel is help either but saturday TV is shocking and i've been playing wii all morning! not wii fit though, maybe i should.
For tea i have a chicken and ham pasta bake, which is 434cals so might add some more pasta to bulk it up a bit and make it up to 600cal . I discovered today that i can actually tell the difference between bottled water and tap!

I enjoy the shakes too! although Im on measure up not SF. I have been told that if u stick to it for 6 days you should get into ketosis and wont feel hungry anymore and that days 4-5 are the hardest, Im day 4 :( so need to get over this hump although not feeling too hungry at the mo Im just tanking down water and running to the loo every 3 mins lol .................. Ooooh think of the exercise lol

bridesmaid... you don't go into ketosis on slimfast because the shakes have carbs in, its the restriction of carbs that causes ketosis. :)

Oh I see, Im on Asda measure up but I still have carbs in my diet (bread mainly) so I guess thats that then better get used to occasional hunger pangs lol

oooo yeah couldn't do without carbs, that's why i could never last on celebrity slim (that and the shakes are vile) Thanks for the willpower kitty, needing it as hubbs is sat next to me and has just demolised a pizza and 2 mars bars. My mouth is watering :(

but you didnt give in and you should be proud of yourself! Give your hubby a slap from me for being a big meanie eating that in front of you!! You can do this, im sure you can x

Thats true, didn't think of that. I did warn him if he didn't take the rest with him (3 multipacks, they're on offer so he stocked up) i was going to either eat them or bin them so he's going to put them in his car, lol! I got myself a little bowl of mixed nuts and raisins and hopefully that will see me through to bed time. x

No I couldn't live without carbs either

OoOoOoOh marrssssss barsssss! NO WE DNT NEED THEM! have to just keep picturing myself slim

So its been a week since starting the shakes but not actually sticking to the diet all that much. So things i've learnt/discovered this week,
Numbero1. I like the chocolate shake lots and will happily drink it without any complaints.
Numero 2. Never buy nuts, because although they are full of good fats and vits, they are high cal and i can not stick to 1 portion :D
Numero 3. The sf section has reignited my love for minimins, you guys are awesome.
Numero 4. It really makes no difference what kind of diet i do, if my heads not in it, its not going to happen.

Here in lies my problem, my head is never in it and on the odd occasion it is, it never lasts long. I've been dieting for over 10 years and i'm still 20 odd stone, 21.3lb to be exact. I'm trying to diet so i can have a baby, the only thing in the world i want and its still not enough for my head to do it, wish i had a normal brain.
Time to stock up on chocolate and get some more cats!!

Nooooo dnt give in! many of us r many times failed dieters and I know exactly what u mean about if ur heads not in it and ur not 100% dedicated its a uphill battle that u feel u will inevitably fail but it only takes it once to work and u've done it! Never give up!

I have been on LLOOOaaaDDDss of diets and like u said they just never stick I cant keep motivated very long (my heart isnt in it) and I dnt know wots different this time but its just clicked and its all working and Im not day dreaming of food all day and I could quite happily do this for years and not be bothered. Maybe u just haven't found "your" diet yet. One that suits u down to the ground. I love mine because I dnt feel Im depriving myself of anything Im still having carbs and have quavers as my snack most days so it doesn't feel as "diety" as before when I was going without anything I enjoyed and living on birdseed lol and thats the things that are important to me

Dnt give up ur dream yet! You can do it!:patback:

im slinking back lol probably alot of pounds heavier thanks to this weeks takeaway naughtiness! but im going back on tomorrow, promise! xx
