First group meeting

Heya, happy Saturday! So had first meeting where did my pee stick-in ketosis :) - met other LLL ladies and had first session. Was weird as one person nearly at end of doing with 3lbs to go and both ladies there had just got bak off holiday and not stuck to plan at all. They were very sweet though.

Lost 1.1kg, so about 2lbs. (on 13.8kg to go!!!) but this is day 3 so I won't get to see what 7 days does from last Weds. Will have to just wait for next Saturday now.

Was STARVING at lunch. Visiting family and watching them eat has been a bit hard. Decided to have steak with cauliflower mash and carrots for 2pm feed and then will have two more sachets this evening. Going to a party so will be lots of food from 6 onwards. Going to get some sparkling water and enjoy a vanilla coffee at the party and have a chilli 10 mins before we leave. Wish me luck.

Still haven't had a you-know-what since weds. Drinking A LOT of water (5 or 6 700 mls on top of tea) so hoped would flush it out but no. Oh well. I'm doing this so I don't care I'll just keep trucking.

FIRST BAR TOMORROW SOOOO EXCITED XXXX

Ignore that, didn't read your post properly. Missed the steak bit so guess ur on lite... Wonder why we haven't got to wee on sticks! x

Ah no! That is weird. I'm all a bit confused by my meetings. Thought there'd be modules and stuff to do but we just sat for 20 minutes and wrote out goals and some ppl turned up that weren't on lite or in our meeting, including some blokes, so it was off putting as they were just hanging about listening n then going for a WI while we were waiting for counsellor. Bit disappointed so hoping better next week x

Yeah I must admit I don't really understand the meetings either. Lots of people really praise lighterlife for how good the meetings are, but so far I've been to three and I really don't find them useful. The first meeting was a meet and greet, no one there was my age so found it hard to relate to anyone as our situations are so different, second meeting was mainly taken up by most of the group confessing to not sticking to the diet in week 1, and third meeting I got given a book and had explained to me that I needed to be in 'adult state' when it came to making decisions. I'm not sure I'm going to go again, I really don't find them useful or interesting and frankly I understand why I'm fat - I ate too much.

Hmm... Sorry if that came across a bit ranty, I'm sure not all groups are the same, but my experience tells me they're just a waste of time. x

Oh no! I haven’t been t o a group yet as it was half term last week and I had the children with me. I do have high hopes for the group! When I went for a pop in to get weighed and pick up my food packs, the first thing she did was tell me to go to the toilet and pee on a stick. It felt a bit like a test. It turned pink and I passed and she was happy with me. I suppose it is the LLC way of finding out if you stuck to plan or not (I am sure there are some people who don’t show ketones in their pee even though they have stuck to plan), its a bit like a lie detector!

I hope next week is better for you. I will let you know how mine goes on Wednesday.
