My councilor said it's ok to carry on with sole source without add a meal week - is this correct???

No it's not on Cambridge, you must do AAM every fifth week or get your dr's consent to continue without it. Your CDC should not be telling you this, you do need your AAM week. It's fine to do and nothing to worry about, it may slow your losses slightly, but most people catch up the following week. Use your yellow book to get the amounts of food you can have and enjoy it.

aamw is also there to stop your metabolism slowing down, so its a sort of kick start to keep your weight loss coming.

as the others have said.. u need to do aamw, unless u have ur gps written concent.

Can't believe my councilor advised that!!

I've just phoned Cambridge and they also said you must do add a meal week!!!

How do I do it? I seem to remember cottage cheese being on the list? How much should I have? Do I still have three shakes??

Should you have low fat cottage cheese? Do you still loose weigh during this week?

Best to get a hold of the booklet, I am sure someone will have a link to it online.

For AAM week you have all your packs as normal and on top of that you have a small meal consisting of one of the following options

Protein

11g/4oz cottage cheese (reduced fat)
50g/2oz chicken or turkey breast without skin
80g/3oz cod, haddock or other white fish
80g/3oz quorn
60g/2.5oz soft tofu opr 120g(5oz) firm tofu

and...

Veg

2 tablespoons of one of the following...

green salad leaves eg. roquette, lambs lettuce watercress, raddiccio, little gem/romain lettuces.

celery, cucumber or red raddishes

courgettes or marrow

broccoli, cauliflower or any cabbage including pickled cabbage.

spinach, kale, turnip or taro tops

asparagus, fennel and celeriac

chinese leafy greens such as pak choi or chinese cabbage.

don't add salt or fat but add herbs and a wee bit of stock if you want.

Then back to SSing the following week - HTH

IV NEVER DONE IT IV HAD TWO CDC'S AND BOTH SAID I COULD DO IT IF I WANTED BUT THAT MOST PEOPLE DONT ,BUT I NEVER DO SO NEVER HAVE

sorry about caps was not shouting lol:p

My CDC said I could miss the first AAM week if I wanted to because it might help me to stick to the plan better but then I should do it all other months. Thats just her interpretation though as officially you should.

I am also not doing aam week but this is because I am only starting week 3 and getting married in Sept, so will only be doing ss for 7/8 weeks. So cdc said to miss it out.

I found AAM torture ........ made me want to EAT and NOT STOP! Anyone else like that? Not looking forward to my second one.....
