I officially met my goal of 100 lbs- After binging? I dont get how weight loss works?

I lost 5 lbs since yesterday... after Last night I went to an all-you-can eat buffet, and ate probably 6 pieces of pizza, 4 cinnamon rolls, some breadsticks, pasta, and 2 sodas. Weighing myself this morning? I lost FIVE POUNDS to a new all-time low weight??

My goal a year and a half ago was 100 lbs. I lost 97 lbs, gained 30, and now lost 34, finally getting me to lose my goal weight. Now I'd like to make sure I can "maintain" and slowly lose another 25, and then I'll be not just a goal weight, but I'll actually be at the perfectly healthy weight!

This isn't the first time it's happened- it seems like every time I eat real poorly, I lose the most weight, and then when I eat "well", I gain weight, so I can't figure out HOW weight is gained/lost?

Is it like sleeping? (your sleep today effects how awake you are two days from now, not tomorrow?) where what you eat today effects your weight in several days?

Is it the effects of "starvation" (if I'm on a 3600 calorie diet, and eat only 1000 calories, while working out burning off 600-800 calories) weight gain?

Is it because of these "binge days" I'm actually eating the CORRECT number of calories for myself? (160 calorie breakfast, 350 calorie lunch, so then a 2000 calorie dinner actually puts me at 2500 calories, which is just about where you want to be for extreme weight loss when paired with a workout at my size/weight?)

Any thoughts/ideas?
