Hey Sona,

I remember you but I didn't post on your page as I was fairly new myself & didn't want to confuse you or myself any further lol! I started off doing only green days and lost a dress size in 6 weeks. I've tried extra easy and I find that's great too as you can have both green & red day free foods, 1 heathly extra A, 1 healthy extra B and 10-15 syns a day. The key is to fill 1/3rd of your plate with superfree foods which you'll find a list of in your books. I've got my own diary if you fancy a nosey. Good luck on your SW journey. :)

Hey Sona,

It's great you've decided to get back on track on monday. It'll definitely be easier as you have the books now too. I done just green days for the first 6 weeks to get me into the swing of things and now I feel comfortable enough to explore extra easy and I can make things like lasagne with REAL meat and not quorn which I tried to make myself buy but kept chickening out lol! Just make sure you eat salad with your main meal & a piece of fruit with every snack then you should be just fine. :)

thanks for the advice! will take that all on board! When you were on just green days did u not eat meat at all? and what were your fave meals?

Also the reason for two breakfast is that im on early shift at work so i hav fruit between 6-8 and then cereal at 10 when i get 1st break. Also keema is chicken mince made with free stuff.

cooked the Donner kebab from the recipe section but i think i made it wrong! I added the flour and all the other spices / herbs i had at home... plus a few of my own chilli's as it would have been too bland for me otherswise... tested the spices by making a small pattie and it seemed to fall apart... so i added an egg to the 1lb of lamb mince aswell.... it seems to hold better but still seems a little brittle... is it meant to be like that? i dont think i will get thin slices from it.... Was very nice though!! Thinking of having a few slices with evening meals not with pitta bread... how many syns is it?

My ingrediants:
1lb lamb mince meat
1 teaspoon flour
1 teaspoon red chillies
1 tsp salt
1tsp herbs
1/2 onion chopped and wizzed
3 feet of garlin chopped and wized
1 egg

Mixed this all up and placed of a frylight baking tray in a "loaf"
and put it in the over for almost 2 hours tuning half way through (slightly earlier as i let it cook longer) wrapped in foil as per instructions.... did not get thin slices but fairly small slices..

Hey hun your menu's are looking good. When I did green I had days where I didn't eat meat at all as I don't mind doing that & on the days that I cooked chicken or lamb curry I'd limit myself to having it for my evening meal. I'm a big fan of daal n rice with lots of salad. I usually fill half my plate with daal & rice and the other half with salad and I mix it in as I'm eating it so the salad doesn't taste boring. Try making some free soups as they make a nice lunch too. Oh try adding chicken or lamb stock to the daal when you cook it as it adds a nice flavour to it as it can taste a bit funny without the tarka :)

hi!
thanks for checking my menu! i really need help with this even tough i have toe books its still a bit confusing!

Defo gona make some soup i personally like cauliflower soup or chicken soup! I have been doing tarka with my dhaal thats why i gave it 2 syns for the oil (not that 1 portion has anywhere near 40kcal in it!) just to be on the safe side!

i have mine with salad mixed in aswell, good thing my hubby loves dhaal and rice aswell! so thats 2 evening meals easy! Iv also cooked some chicken keem with frylight and also make some chicken tikka with marinate but cooked in a por rather than roasted with no oil. Going to use these in eveing meals and salads to keep thinks interresting. The meat shop guy looked at me funny when i asked for 1 lb or chicken minc, lamb mince and 2 chicken breasts! I made a donner kebab aswell! lolz it doesnt look right.. its more or less a huge kebab burger which i should have been able to cut strips off.. nect time will just make small kebabs and freeze.

No worries hun,

I was gonna make lamb burgers with my own masalas too. I can't cope with the spice combo's on here lol! SW tend to use too many cinamon sticks and chopped tomato for my liking and they put yogurt in most of the curries too. Oh & don't get me started on the amount of curry powder they use. It's scary stuff lol! I just double the onion & use garam masala instead and that seems to thicken the sauce enough for me. I just cook 'normal' currys (the desi way) just without the fat. Sorry for the rant lol! ;)

Ps the halaal butchers scare me so I just leave that to my dad to sort out! :D

lol @ spice combo it makes me laugh when i see the amount of spices recomended for a curry! its insane the more you add to it the worste it tastes! For the best dish all u need is red chillies, salt and haldi! I swear by it! All the extra stuff gives me a bad tummy! I use garam masala and sukha dhaniya when i need it mostly with lamb or mince.. chicken and veg dont relly need it i recon! Like some garam masala in dhaal tho right at the end when its cooked to give it a nice look!

Im defo gona make some burgers next week! they should be free if i can make them without the flour. What do you add to ur burgers?

Lol....you should've seen my mum's face when I tried asking her for all those masalas....oh you would've cracked up if you'd seen how she flared her nostrils :yuk:

The basic sauce that we use for curry's is fry onions until brown, add garlic, ginger, a little chopped tomato, salt, chopped green chillies, coarse ground dried corriander, cook the meat and finish with fresh corriander. This basic recipe works with chicken or lamb and you can add veg to it if you like and it shouldn't give you heart burn like the curry recipes on here lol!

For lamb burgers or seekh kebabs we wash & drain the mince, add lots of very finely chopped onions with as much of the water sqeezed out as possible, fresh corriander, salt, coarse ground dried coriander and chopped green chillies to taste. You can add a halal lamb stock cube to the mixture to give it a meatier taste if you like and replace the green chillies with black pepper if your kids don't like hot food. :)

Thanks hun! yeh thats just about what we use aswell for most meaty dish's! My MIL does most the cooking at my house as i work full time and shes a stay at home mum! and baby sitter!

Im gona keep ur recipie for the kebabs maybe give them a shot next week. Although my mum mademe some last time i saw her and they are sat in the freezer but they have been shallow fried in olive oil so il reluctant to eat them. Do you think seek kebabs that have been grilled over a BBQ with all free "materials" in them are classed as free? They may have cournflour in them.. hmmm

anyway thanks again, gona have anose at other diaries and urs for ideas on next weeks menu!!

Had a good night last night gym for 35 mins (had to get off home soon after so hubby can go gym) and managed to burn 340 cals!! more than the day before in less time!! woohoo

Don't worry about the pringles you're allowed between 5-15 Syns a day so you're still under 15 :)

I know what you mean but i had planned on havin desert at night with the hubby while we watch a movie so i went slightly over syns! :-( 16.5 all together! BUT im not feeling too bad as i went gym and burned an extra 40 cals to claw the pringles calories back!! hehe how sad is that! At the gym again tonight! gona aim for 350 in 35 mins if i can!! Wish i could stay a whole hour at gym but i have to get back so hubby can go work on "his guns" MEN!
