I have been going back and forth to my GP for about 12 months with a continuing problem with my monthlies.
I started having a period 10 days after finishing my last which was driving me mad. When I wasn't on a period I had tummy ache and it just didn't feel right. My GP did some blood tests and sent me for an ultrasound but everything came back normal. She said she had no idea why this had started happening, but if I wanted she would prescribe me the contraceptive pill to regulate my period. (I'm 39 by the way).
That was a bout 6 months ago and things have improved a little. But now a pattern is emerging again. I have my period, then 10 days later I start with pre-menstrual symptoms; tummy ache, headaches etc and these continue for about a week, then I have my period. So basically every cycle I have a week with no period and no symptoms and I'm really fed up about it.
Do you think I need to go back to my GP?
