Recipe Files

Hi,
Was just interested to know how people keep their slimming world recipes together? I've got a few from magazines, from here, from class and have scraps of paper everywhere. I need a system to keep them together - I guess just a folder would work but just wondered if anyone else had different ways of doing it?

No Im afraid Im not that organised it would be nice though to have everything in one place.

Good Luck with sorting it out

I picked up a lovely hard back a4 notebook from the pound shop and keep mine altogether in there. Some I write in, others cut out from magazines, printed from here etc I stick in. I then add my own notes, alterations etc plus our favourite meals and menu plans. Its fast becoming a very well used resource!

I bought some Display Books from Tesco. When I got them they were 3 for the price of 2, but I don't know if that is still the case. I have some with bright pink covers and some with bright turquoise, so even I can't lose them!

They are files containing 20 clear pockets - when I cut the recipes out I just slide them into the pockets (they are the right size for SW magazine pages. I put two pages in each pocket, back to back.

I have my recipes on index cards (C6 I think), ingredients on one side, instructions on the other, syns in the corner. So I can sort them by red days, green days, free, branded etc. Seems to be working for me. ;)

I got a gorgeous book from paperchase which I write them all in and laminate the pages (im a very messy cook), I may think about sticking pages in though, good idea!!

I have torn out all recipes from the SW mags ( going back years, as i pinched my mums old ones...lol )
and have them in A4 plastic wallets and then in a ring binder.
All my own recipes i have on my recipe thread on here (*honey's recipes)

If you count having everything stacked up on the windowsill as a filing system then that's the one I use! (Disorganisation should be my middle name!)

I have a leather bound book with a fountain pen and write them all out longhand into the book as and when I try them.....
I include a smileyface scoring system with 0-5 green smiley faces depending on how much I like the recipe.. or a red sad face if I don't like them at all..

so far it's still empty :)
