Hi, I'm new!

Hello! I'm new to calorie counting and as this is (comparably) quite a small forum I just wanted to say hello to everybody.

I lost over 70lbs in just over a year using WeightWatchers and then Cambridge, but gained a stone and a half last year after a kidney infection stopped me in my tracks - then I just never really got back on the weight loss wagon so to speak!

I tried WeightWatchers ProPoints for a few weeks, but it didn't really work for me. At my height and predisposition to hold weight like a sponge (I have PCOS) I found it was just too much food. So, with the help of LiveStrong.com I'm trying calorie counting to get down to 8 stone - so far I'm really impressed.

I eat fewer calories on the days I don't exercise, and more on the days I do - it sounds like common sense, but after years of crazy diets it's amazing how you often can't see the wood for the trees!

Just wanted to say hello to everybody and good luck to us all :)

hi hun, welcome to the forum! i totally understand your post...rings true with me in so many ways! i too have PCOS so weight gain is easy and weightloss it sooo blinking hard!!! I couldnt get on with WW propoints either as it put me on over 2000 cals a day when i converted my menus after weeks of no loss or STS :-( so i tried CD, but after a few weeks of hit or miss i came off plan and have started CC. Suddenly, everything clicks into place and i can see exactly how i put my weight on and why iv not shifted it sooner! I put on 6 stone with a very hard pregnancy, since having him 20 mths ago, iv only lost 2 stone. iv got a total of 6 st that i want to lose to get me slim which i know i will do, but how long it will take is something else!! Like you, if i have an active day i eat a few more cals at 1500 and on a non active day i stick to 1300 cals. but i eat in 'reverse'. i eat most of my cals in the first half of my day and keep the evening really low on cals, so basically eat my cals when i need them. So far, its going great and i wish i took on that principle sooner!

i hope your CC has got off to a good start and look forward to seeing how u get on xx

Thank you all :)

And Sarah-Louise, it's nice to see somebody else in the same hormonal boat so to speak hehehe :D

Welcome and good luck, let us know how you get on. x

Thank you everybody - what a lovely welcome! It's going really well so far, and I've lost more in just over 2 weeks than I lost in a month on WeightWatchers!! I'm also way more encouraged to exercise and feel sooo much fitter :)

Welcome from one newbie to another.

I have tried every diet going and have now started cc as I have a lot of weight to shift before getting married in Sept. I tried WW etc and lost hardly anything as I think I was eating far too many calories...

Anyhoooooo, good luck with losing weight x
