Any vegetarians on here? Need ideas!

I'm fast approaching my add a meal week, I'm doing ts. As I'm veggie would quorn be ok to eat? I eat no meat or fish and no animal products like gelatine or rennet but I do eat dairy. I know I'm aiming for 600kcal but what about carb content? Any number I should be aiming for there? I was thinking about quorn sausages (plain ones), quorn chicken pieces and green salad and green vegetables. Does this sound ok? I emailed exante and their response was a bit vague so thought I'd consult my oracles on here! Hope you can help me and hope you've all had a lovely week. I'm on half term now, I love being a teacher sometimes! :)

I'm a veggie teacher too! Half term is much needed here!! For AAM week I enjoyed roasted veg with a small amount of goats cheese - use a squirt or two of spray oil. Spinach and mushroom omelette with green salad. Large mushrooms stuffed with cottage cheese and broccoli and cauliflower with a smidgeon of grated cheese and quorn sausage. I really enjoyed my AAM and lost 3 lbs that week, hope you enjoy too.

Nicki, I can't thank you enough! Omelettes hadn't even entered my head! AAM officially starts on Wednesday but half term is much needed here too so may start earlier. Are you secondary or primary? I'm secondary (I teach mfl) and I started at my school in January after being at my old school for 7 years and a term. I've had to re-establish myself which is some tough going so I am chuffed to bits I made it through the first half term (relatively) unscathed!!!

I think some people choose just to drink milk for AAM week too, so remember you could get some of those cals from adding milk to things that week too / or just having a large glass of milk (if you like it!)

Even for non-veggies, omelettes are great, and you can always add a little cheese.

Good luck with it xx

That all sounds yum nicki, as a vegetarian as well I will be trying some of those on my AAM weeks.

What fab ideas... I hadn't thought of those either. I have my AAM week next week so will be sure to try those too....thanks x

Sainsbury's do some nice meatfree mince, meatballs, hotdogs etc, which are really low in carbs.

I make veggie shepherds pie with the mince and a cauliflower topping - wont take you out of ketosis.
