New to Exante

Hey everyone :)

I started Exante yesterday, but have done Cambridge before and lost 4 stone. Have put a fair bit back on and am getting married in June. So I want to get back into all my old clothes and, more importantly, my wedding dress.

Going well so far. Finding the bars a lot nicer than the Cambridge ones, which I couldn't stand. Had a Thai Chicken soup which I wasn't keen on though. I prefer to just have chocolate shakes, but see from the website that it's quite a lot more expensive to do that.

Do people swap products at all with each other?

Also wondered if anybody knew whether or not the bumper pack off is disappearing anytime soon? I'll buy a three months supply if that's the case.

Can't believe how much cheaper than Cambridge it is and I used to really struggle finding time to go and see someone; this suits me a lot better, but not sure why I didn't know about it before!! Probably spent too long on the Cambridge forum :D

Going to do a diary as well I think, to keep track of my progress.

Hello and Welcome.:D

To answer your questions:
  • You can't swap items here on Minimins
  • The bumper pack discounts seem to be on all the time
  • I couldn't stand most of the shakes or soups initially either, but I did prefer them to Cambridge shakes which I found too sweet.
  • Here are some tips: I make the chocolate shake into hot chocolate by using boiling water, a tablet sweetener and an electric wand whisk. Really tasty.
  • I add a shake of cinnamon to the vanilla and banana shakes and drink those hot too.
  • The strawberry shake I make into a smoothie with lots of ice.
  • I add a good dash of Encona Hot Pepper Sauce (58p for a 142ml bottle at Tescos) to the soups and make them up with a lot more water. I find them more filling that way and it disguises some of the flavour. However if you don't like spicy flavours it might not work. Sometimes I add a small teaspoon of Marigold Vegetarian bouillon powder or some chopped herbs.
  • You can't have anything with citric acid in it, so if you are drinking diet drinks check the labels. Coke Zero, Dr Pepper Zero and Asda Cola are all okay. Diet Coke, any type of Pepsi are not.
  • I have found I loose more weight if I don't have any of the diet drinks and stick to water all day. It also helps me drink the required 2-3 litres per day.:waterbottle:
There's an excellent Exante FAQ thread that Rachael aka Cybill wrote, with later contributions from others http://www.minimins.com/exante/189296-exante-faqs.html

There are also various Exante challenges to help us keep on track. Monthly Weight Loss Challenges, Easter Challenge etc. There's no counsellor with Exante so these help, as do the various Exante sticky threads and diaries.

Although you shouldn't over-exercise if you are doing Exante Total Solution, there are also some great exercise threads too. I think there are also wedding threads as well where you can get support from other dieting brides to be. :character00250:

Good luck with your weight loss. I am sure you won't be disappointed with your losses if you stick to your plan. However, the important thing is to maintain the weight loss in the longer term, and that takes real perservance.

Hi

I'm also new to exante to I did Cambridge a few years back and gained twice what I lost. Day four into exante now and I must say I love it. I have been told the bumper offer is permanent and there are a couple of soups I don't like but I might just put them on eBay or something.

Good luck with ur Weightloss journey x

Julie - thanks for all those tips!
Good to hear that the offer seems to be always on.
I found Cambridge a bit too sweet and much prefer the choc shake with Exante. I do exactly the same and have it as a hot choc and it's lovely.
No worries on the diet drink front, as I only drink water anyway, even when not dieting. It's the one thing I never struggle with when doing something like this.
I'll have a look at the challenges and for the bride/groom one.

Hannah - sorry to hear that you gained again. It's the hard bit isn't it? The easy bit is the diet I think. I was doing CD to get to where I wanted to be for Orlando and put on a tonne of weight there, followed by Christmas and then just excuses.

Think I might palm my unwanted soups off on my BF. He's having my strawberry and banana shakes with protein powder in them - trying to bulk up! Good luck too Hannah :)

Good luck to both of you. Watergirl, we are told not to buy any products on ebay. Maybe in case they are old, tampered with or counterfeit, or probably to keep us buying them from Exante!

I keep checking out the ebay items for Exante. I bought Lighter life on there (before they were all removed) and Cambridge Diet and they were fine. I've bid a couple of times for Exante products but haven't got back in time for the final bids. I'm lucky because I like all the Exante products, and even ordered a whole bumper pack of soups! I bulk them out so much with more water and the pepper sauce and it really helps me from feeling hungry. I really love the bars.

I can't believe eBay are allowing an auction to run which is selling shakes that are 6 months out of date

That's bad I would never sell or buy out of date ones, it would just be handy to get rid of flavours I don't like so I can save the money with the bumper packs.

I luckily have a BF who will eat most things, so he can have anything that I don't like :)

I do the same Julie with bulking them out. I make my hot choc shake in a pint glass. Try to get as much fluid in as possible.

Really really surprised by how nice things are. Not that CD wasn't nice - I lost pretty much all my weight purely on chocolate tetra and used them even after finishing because I love them so much! I think the nuts bar might replace that obsession though!

Hi and welcome i love the choco shake aswell.I only bought shakes was going to buy the bumper soup pack aswell, but have decided to stick with the shakes as I really like all the flavours ,with a bit of tweaking ie coffee, cinamon.
Good luck on exante hope you get good results..

Hi ;)

Ooh my fave is the toffee and nut bar to!

Oh as for ebay, I was looking earlier and the postage is a rip off in most of those auctions...someone wants £10?!

Hi & Good luck :D
The tetra shakes are lovely on the cambridge :D Can't wait to try an exante shake tomorrow :D x

Hi Liz,
Welcome and good luck :) You're not the only one here that's done a VLCD and accidentally put some on again - I did LL a few years ago and have relost that weight and finally on to losing new weight now :)
It sounds like you're getting off to a good start, I look forward to seeing your losses start to build up. It's a great site for friendly support :)

Thanks :) on day 3 now and appetite gone completely. Think it's because I've low carbed for a few days prior, so probably in ketosis already!

Same as me - I cant say that I am hungry one bit - It takes alot for me to have my third meal replacement. Though, as I have said somewhere on here before, I think about food, diets & being slim 24/7..... I
